The libraries for different age groups are given on separate floors. Also these are mostly allotted on the upper floors so that there is less noise disturbance for the users.

6

Concept The derivation of the program based on the Categories and the site lead to an instant reaction of the floor plates to be stacked.

Site Plan

The stacking arrangement of floor plates is based on the idea of compartmentalized flexibility.

In today’s time with the emergence of Internet and digitalization of books and information, this has enormously influenced the manner in which we consume information. The significance of physical collection versus a quick Internet search at any given point of time really questions the sustainability of a “public library”.

CO - WORKING SPACE SEMESTER 5

Location : Khandeshwar. Area : 3600 sq.m The site is located at a 10 mins walking distance from Khandeshwar railway station, and there are lot of college's in the neighborhood. The main idea was to keep the co-working space and the public area separate, yet easily accessible to both the users. Also the site has two water bodies one inside the side and the other is an canal running parallel to the site. Thus the waterfronts act as a major public area provided with various hangout spaces for the users.

Office space is placed on the upper floors so that there is no direct access for the public to the office. The green balcony acts a breakout space for the users where they can have their lunch and relax watching the waterfront.

Concept The main idea was to provide breakout spaces in the office which also had an visual connection to the waterfront.

Site Plan

The circulation is designed in such a way that the users coming to the public area cannot directly enter the office space, this way there is always a privacy for the office users.

Providing green spaces as breakout spaces in naturally created voids.

The plan is a basic rectangle placed on the site, on the ground floor there is an indoor public cafeteria and only an entrance lobby to the co working space on the above floors.

WEEKEND HOUSE SEMESTER 2

Site Plan

Location : Pillai college of Architecture,Panvel Area : 900 sq.m. The site is located in a dense land of trees, with river Kalundre on the eastern side of it. The Project was about to design a weekend house for a role model , so the spaces are designed keeping in mind the various activities related to the user. Here the user is a nutrition and exercise science expert who loves to live a fit and healthy lifestyle and does many things which help her do so. Meditation is one those things which was a part of her everyday routine , hence a fountain was proposed as its peaceful , gentle trickling sound is a great de-stressor and promotes relaxation.

Adding a fountain immediately adds beauty to the outdoor spaces , the calming sound of water trickling creates a relaxing ambiance.

Section BB’

Concept Getting inspired by the surrounding tree spreads. This is achieved by following the curves of the spread of the central tree which led to this radial geometry , so that the structure blends in the site.

Elevation The plan follows a radial geometry , which is inspired by the spread of central tree. There are two blocks separated by a wooden deck , which is covered with a pergola.
