作者序
本書是為了新多益考試入門者,以及沒有辦法掌握好新多益的題目類型、一直處於徬徨狀 態的學習者所編寫的基礎學習用書。入門者若想在一個月內考取 500 分以上的分數,只要 讀完本書的話就一定可以達成,我帶著這樣的信心完成了這本書。 筆者長時間從事教學工作,看到了許多學生因為用了錯誤的學習方式浪費了很多的時間和 精力,因而感到十分心疼又惋惜,心裡總希望若能給這些學習者一點點幫助就好了,因此 才完成了這本集結所有必考重點的用書。 市面上大多數的基礎學習用書不論是聽力或閱讀的內容都太過於龐雜,光是那厚度可能就 會讓考生感到負擔,產生逃避的心理。 因為多益測驗只會出現多益獨有的題目類型,因此只要能好好掌握題型學習的話,就能輕 鬆獲取基本分。因為即使寫了很多題目,但基本功不夠扎實,意即若沒有好好將題目類型 加以理解的話,便會很難提升分數。 本書是以筆者多年的現場教學經驗為基礎,讓讀者能簡單又快速地理解多益測驗的問題類 型,並分別標示出必須熟記的部分和常出的重點,各個章節最後加入符合該章節的題目以 供讀者練習,期望能透過解題加深學習效果。 另外,為了讓讀者好好準備新制的多益測驗,本書也收錄了新增加的文章類型和題目。雖 然考生一開始可能會對於調整過後的題目以及新的文章類型感到不適應,但其實難易度並 沒有調整,因此不需要過度有壓力。只要透過本書反覆練習新增加的題型,就能夠充分應 付改制後的新多益測驗! 學習者透過這本結合聽力和閱讀的學習書,就能熟記新多益測驗中必須知道的發音原理、 常考字彙、句型、表達用語和必考文法,並透過練習模擬題增強應試能力。本書不僅可以 當作補習班的教材,也相當適合在家自修。 實力是在有效率的學習以及努力不懈的練習過程中向上提升的。我確信,若不要只是背誦 題目的答案,而是好好利用本書正確地理解題目的類型和重點,並注意文章的整體脈絡來 學習的話,一定能在一個月內取得好成績。

• 何謂 TOEIC ? TOEIC 是 Test of English for International Communication 的縮寫,是為了評估非以英文為 母語的人在國際環境下生活或執行業務時的英文能力測驗。目前在韓國、日本等全世界 60 多個國家,每年有 4 百萬名以上的考生參加多益測驗,考試結果運用於僱用與升遷、 選拔海外派遣工作人員等各種目的。

介紹 Part 3 & Part 4 的測驗內容,並說明 Part 3 和 Part 4 的解題訣竅,在「Type of Question ( 問題類 型 )」中更整理了 Part 3 和 Part 4 所有的問題類型 和範例。
Part 3 的題型是要先聽完簡短的對話再根據內容依序回答 3 個問題,總共會有 13 個對話內 容以及 39 個問題。對話的主題通常是有關商業的內容或是日常生活中常見、信手拈來的事 件,而對話的種類主要又分為 1 兩人的短對話,2 兩人的長對話,3 三人對話,4 含有 圖表類的對話這 4 種類型。 在 Part 3 中最重要的就是要在對話開始前先看好題目內容。特別是兩人的長對話、三人對 話,以及有圖表題的對話,這些對話來回次數比較多,內容也比較長,所以要掌握細部的 資訊或是整體主旨就會比較麻煩一點,因此,在對話開始之前一定要先看過題目和選項。 在對話中出現的連接詞片語也需要注意,當出現表示和前文內容意思相反的 but, however, actually, in fact 或者是用來整理前面內容和結果的 so, then 的時候,後面很可能就接著解題 的關鍵線索。請務必看清楚題目是問關於男生還是女生的問題。因為有很多考生即使了解 整個對話內容,但因為把男女搞混就答錯的狀況很多,因此必須要先確定題目到底問的是 男生、女生或是第三者,才能有效降低失誤。最後,在對話中出現過的詞,若選項中也出 現完全一樣的,該選項通常都是錯誤答案,而且像這樣利用考生很難記住對話的全部內容 這一點,在選項中故意放入和對話相關的單字以誘導考生掉入陷阱的情況又非常常見,因 此必須要多加注意。 Types of Questions

詢問對象的問題 把非說話者的第三人,即話題中心人物記起來相當重要,所以考試時也要連同問題 who 後面的內容一起讀,就能確切知道是在問哪個對象。 ˙ Who most likely are the speakers? 說話者最有可能是誰? ˙ Who gave the man an offer? 給男子錄取通知的是誰?

句子的結構和形式 Objectives 了解句子構成的基本要素 了解句子為何會有不同的形態 了解英文句型與不同動詞的使用方式
英文句子的基本構成要素有主詞、動詞、受詞以及補語。主詞因為是動作和狀態的主體, 所以也是整個句子的主體,動詞則是用來說明主詞的動作和狀態。受詞是動詞產生動作的 對象,補語則用來補充說明主詞和受詞。

句型一:主詞 + 不及物動詞 + [ 副詞 ] 僅用不及物動詞本身來傳達主詞的意思,動詞後面不需要接受詞,動詞後面則常有副 詞來修飾動詞。
˙The new employee works hard. 那位新進職員很認真工作。
˙Profits increased steadily last year. 去年的利潤穩定增加。

句型二:主詞 + 連綴動詞 (be, remain, get, become) + 補語 ( 形容詞 / 名詞 ) 連綴動詞是不完全不及物動詞,不完全的意思是指動詞後面要有補充說明主詞的補 語,也就是修飾主詞的形容詞或是和主詞有同位關係的名詞。這類動詞主要是 be 動 詞,表示「是~」以及「~的狀態」的意思。和 be 動詞有相似用法的動詞有 remain, get, become 等。
˙The serious problem was difficult to solve. 這個嚴重的問題很難解決。 形容詞 difficult 用來形容 problem 的狀態。
˙The company’s products remain competitive. 這間公司的產品依舊有競爭力。 形容詞 competitive 用來形容 products 的狀態。
˙The famous speaker is our supervisor. 那位有名的演講者是我們的上司。 be 動詞後面接的名詞 supervisor 用來表示和主詞的同位關係。

句型三:主詞 + 及物動詞 + 受詞 及物動詞的後面必須接受詞。受詞可以是名詞、代名詞、名詞子句、動名詞 (V-ing)、 不定詞 (to-V)。由於大多數的動詞都可用作及物動詞和不及物動詞,因此只能當作及 物動詞使用的動詞必須要特別背誦。 ˙ The managers are discussing the sales figures. 經理們在討論銷售數字。 ˙ The sales report shows that our company is going bankrupt. 這份銷售報告顯示我們公司即將破產。 show 是及物動詞,表示「顯示∼」的意思,後面接的 that 子句是名詞子句,作為動詞的受 詞。
