JanuarySolo and Chamber Music Recital 12 January, 6pm, Tanglin Centenary Building,
Recital Room (Level 8)
The first major musical event in The Centenary Building features a range of soloists and chamber music performed by students from both Junior and Senior Schools. The recital takes place in the Recital Room on Level 8 and includes a range of music from the Baroque Period to musical theatre and songs by contemporary artists.
West Side Story 17-20 January
With a company of over a hundred - performers, directors, musicians, and designers we bring you: the West Side Story School Edition. Young lovers are caught between prejudice and warring street gangs in a high school adaptation of one of the most important and powerful musicals of all time. From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. Arthur Laurents' book remains as powerful, poignant, and timely as ever; the score by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim are still widely regarded as among the best ever written. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to 1950s New York City as two young, idealistic lovers, Tony and Maria, find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

The annual battle is back! Students from Years 7 to 13 will compete to see which bands will be crowned 2023’s Champions. All bands will receive coaching from the experts at Songwork International, and winners will have the opportunity to record with them! Come along to the Berrick Performance Hall for the most exciting musical event of the year.
ARTiculation
9-10 February 2023 (semi-final) and 24 February 2023 (final), National Gallery Singapore
The Articulation Prize Singapore is co-organised by National Gallery Singapore (the Gallery) and Singapore Art Museum (SAM) in conjunction with National Gallery, London. It is designed to promote the appreciation and discussion of art among young people and to develop their confidence and ability to express their opinions and thoughts on current issues that matter to them. Students will be invited to deliver a visual presentation about a work of art, architecture, or an artefact of their choice to an audience.
Hansel and Greta (Year 7-9) 21 February, 5pm
With wolves and hares, hedgehog and witches, children and talking sausages, these Gothic tales by the brothers Grimm have been brought to life by the Middle School. Join us for an evening of frightening stories, comedy, and riddles for you to ponder. Even the wildest fairy tales hold a grain of truth...

Large Ensembles Concert
9 March, 6pm, Berrick Performance Hall
Featuring the School Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Sinfonietta and a range of other ensembles, this promises to be a wonderful evening with a varied programme of music. The concert will take place in the Berrick Performance Hall and will last approximately one hour.
IB Visual Arts Exhibition (Private Viewing)

This year's exhibition showcases a beautiful selection of artwork from our Sixth Form Visual Arts students. It’s a culmination of their experience in the IB programme, so let us celebrate their hard work!
Solo and Chamber Music Recital
20 March, 7pm, Tanglin Centenary Building, Recital Room (Level 8)
Another opportunity to hear a broad range of musical styles and genres in the formal setting of the Recital Room, performed by students from across the Junior and Senior Schools. The Concert will include solo performances as well as pieces presented by some of our chamber ensembles.
Botanic Beats
25 March, 6pm, Botanic Gardens
Sit back and relax in the glorious setting of the Botanic Gardens and listen to our ensembles perform a wide programme of upbeat music ranging from Baroque to modern-day works on the Symphony Stage. Don’t forget to bring your picnic!
Hamlet
27 and 28 March, Berrick Performance Hall
An abridged production of a classic Shakespeare text, Hamlet, led by a talented cast of 12 actors from Years 8 to 13
Jazz Night (Year 7 to 13) 30 March, 6pm, The Moot
This popular event will showcase our school Jazz ensembles – Jazz Band, Big Band and Jazz-tet. There will also be performances from student-led groups, the instrumental tutors, and some student compositions. This is an intimate evening where you can bring your own food and drinks, and enjoy some Tanglin Jazz.

Choral Concert

This concert is the culmination of a week-long Choral Festival designed to re-engage students with choral singing after the devastating impact of Covid restrictions. Alongside our special Guest Paul Phoenix (former King’s Singer), choirs and choral groups from across the schools will take place in a celebration of all things choral!
Musician of the Year
25 April, time and venue tbc
The Finalists’ Concerts for the Tanglin Musician of the Year 2023 will take place in front of our esteemed judges! The two concerts will see the final few musicians in each category perform to see who wins each class and who is ultimately crowned Tanglin Musician of the Year 2023. The Intermediate Concert takes place at 3pm, followed by the Advanced Concert at 6pm.

Animal Farm

All animals are equal… but some animals are more equal than others. Our production of Animal Farm is a spirited, bold, and contemporary version of a timeless story that continues to be relevant. We fuse physical theatre and expressive movement with stirring choreography and powerful sound. Our ensemble of student performers, directors, designers, and choreographers bring you a show that holds true to Orwell’s intentions.

Tanglin Trust School will again host the spectacular Across Asia Youth Film Festival. Shortlisted films in several genres (narrative, animation, documentary and experimental) will be screened in front of a panel of prestigious judges with prizes awarded to winners in various age-based and technical categories. Last year's event attracted over 140 submissions from filmmakers in 10 Asian countries.
