Welcome Message from the CEO
We are thrilled to celebrate 100 years of Tanglin Trust School, a beacon of education in Singapore. This special year is flled with captivating stories, cherished memories, and exciting events that capture the essence of our vibrant community.
Join us as we embark on a journey through time, exploring the rich history and legacy of Tanglin. From the launch of our limited-edition cofee table book, 100 Tanglin Tales, the opening of the Centenary Exhibition, to the Reunions in London, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Coming together as Team Tanglin we will close Term 2 with a Gala party at Cliford Pier, ofering a unique blend of elegance, history, and stunning waterfront views, and after Easter we enjoy the melodic richness and harmonic clarity that will be central to the world premiere of Jonathan Dove’s Centenary composition.
We can’t wait to celebrate the past, present, and future of Tanglin Trust School. We look forward to you joining us.

The Centenary Exhibition
100 Years of Tanglin – Celebrating a Centenary of of Excellence At The Centenary Building Atrium
The Centenary Exhibition will be open to our community and visitors to the school from August 2024 to June 2025. You are welcome to explore our history and heritage through the various displays and artefacts captured over the past 100 years.
There are fve main areas that tell the story of Tanglin:
• Heritage Boards
• History Timeline
• Display of Artefacts
• Class Photos Through the Years
• Uniforms Through the Ages
These visual displays capture the progress of the school with just fve students in 1925 to where we are today. Historical documents and carefully selecting items in our archives and those generously donated by Alumni form part of this showcase; many of which have never been seen before by the public.
The Institute
The Institute presents a series of talks on the theme ‘Future of…’ as part of our Centenary celebrations. Our speakers will focus on future opportunities, trends, research, and the challenging questions and issues that we will have to address across diferent industries and disciplines. All our events encourage discussion, questions and engagement with our distinguished speakers.

Join us for the Centenary Keynote Speaker event with Dr Ayesha Khanna, Co-founder and CEO of Addo, a leading AI expert and Forbes-recognised entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in digital transformation. Dr Khanna is an advisor to major smart cities and the metaverse, and provides AI scholarships to girls and mid-career women through her education company, Amplify. Dr Khanna will discuss how AI is revolutionising education, careers, harnessing AI and smart cities for a resilient future. Register here

Tanglin Alumni Centenary Celebrations

This will be a special, elegant evening open to all Tanglin Alumni whether former students, former parents or staf members of Tanglin.
Join fellow Alumni as we raise a glass and toast to our amazing journey as a school! Hosted by our Chair of Governors, Dominic Nixon, and CEO, Craig Considine, we hope to see cohorts through the years in attendance including former heads of school and teachers. Present as well will be several current faculty members of Tanglin.

The whole school will come together to celebrate Tanglin’s 100th Birthday!
We will kick of with a special Bus Bay Celebration at the start of the day that will be open to everyone. Students can look forward to their own group activities, games and music, as each school celebrates in their own unique way.
Please join us as one big Tanglin community to mark this milestone. It will be a wonderful day; one that every student will remember being part of!

World Premiere of Centennial Arts Trail Commission

As part of the Centennial Arts Trail, Tanglin has commissioned the acclaimed British composer Jonathan Dove to write a piece to mark and celebrate the school's centenary. Jonathan Dove’s music has flled opera houses and concert halls with delighted audiences of all ages on fve continents. He is one of the most performed living composers and few, if any, contemporary composers have so successfully or consistently explored the potential of opera to communicate, to create wonder and to enrich people’s lives. The choral work he will write for the Gala Concert will be written for both Tanglin students and professional orchestral players to perform together, alongside a large chorus of Tanglin students and a professional choir. This concert will be the world premiere of the work and promises to be an enormously special event for all involved, performers and audience members.
Alongside performing in the premiere, Tanglin students will also take to the stage in the frst half to perform pieces they have been preparing through they year. Featuring students from the whole age range this concert promises to be a spectacular evening and not to be missed. Tickets will be released in Term 1 and all are welcome to attend.

Summer Festival Centenary Edition

We round of our year-long centenary year with an extravaganza Centenary Summer Fair and Festival. With all the usual much-loved games, activities and food, we bring a festival bigger than ever before. Performers will entertain you on the main stage and students from across the schools will come together to showcase their talents. Come with your whole family and enjoy what will be the fnal event in the Centenary Year calendar.
This event is open to the whole school community and tickets will go on sale in Term 3.

Tanglin Trust School Foundation
Make Your Mark: Step into the Centenary September-December 2024
To mark our Centenary, the Foundation hopes that members of the Tanglin community will participate in the special Make Your Mark campaign starting in September 2024.
The campaign ofers a limited number of commemorative plaques to be installed in The Centenary Building, to celebrate your legacy to Tanglin. Each plaque will be customizable for a donation of $168, a number that symbolizes an “auspicious start” and the “path to prosperity” into our second century.
All proceeds from this campaign will go towards supporting exceptional experiences for our current and future generations in Arts; Sport; Imagination, Innovation and Inquiry; and Global Issues.

Foundation Drinks: The Centenary Edition 25 September 2024 at Siri House Dempsey
The annual Foundation Drinks will have a Centenary favour as it will be hosted at an exclusive venue with our generous Foundation Members and Advocates. In this annual celebration of philanthropy at Tanglin, our Members come together to hear about the impact of their giving, unite with other members in the community and learn more about the institution priorities for Tanglin. By invitation for Foundation Members and Foundation Advocates only.
