Tanglin Lions Sports Kit 2021-22
Following a long and thorough process, involving several large kit manufacturers, we are pleased to announce that Kukri will be the suppliers of the Tanglin Lions kit range from 2021-22 and beyond. Kukri is a UK sportswear manufacturer with over 20 years of experience supplying bespoke clothing and apparel for over 100 sports. Entering into partnership with Kukri, we join a long list of schools, universities and professional teams, which includes Loughborough University, Team England and British Gymnastics. The new kit range reveals a modernisation of our traditional designs whilst drawing upon the history of the school and sports department by returning to the core ‘home’ colour of navy blue. It has been noted that in recent years the number of schools competing in red has increased significantly and as Tanglin approaches its centenary year, we made the choice to restore the colour and identity of our earliest competitive sports teams.
Athletics, Cross Country and Climbing Vests
The key purpose of each design is to establish a common theme throughout the range which makes us, regardless of the sport, instantly recognisable as the Tanglin Lions when on the pitch or court at tournaments throughout Singapore and the region.
The traditional colours of blue, red and white are prominent, with each kit featuring the Tanglin Lion on the left chest, with the Tanglin palm adorning the left sleeve. We listened to feedback from parents and worked with the designers to achieve greater consistency across the sports, streamlining the range so that students can more often utilise the same items of kit across different sports. For example, our shirts for badminton, tennis, and volleyball are the same, whilst sports such as athletics, cross country and climbing share the same vest.

You will also notice that the touch and rugby shirts now share the same design, while our basketball kit mirrors that worn by our athletes, climbers, and those on the badminton, tennis and volleyball courts.

We also recognise that some sports (at Senior level) require sport specific clothing such as football shirts, netball dresses and heavier rugby shirts for comfort, practicality, and the traditions of those sports.
Students and sports staff were engaged in the selection process and their feedback helped guide us towards the final decision. Our key purpose was to maintain the high quality of sportswear our students deserve, whilst recognising the importance of offering cost effective products to families. We believe that our new Kukri range delivers on both.

The new Kukri kits are now available to buy in our school shop and we look forward to seeing the Tanglin Lions proudly wearing their new kit for training and competition in the coming weeks and months.
Our competitive swim team, the Merlions, will retain their traditional red swimming costumes and caps.
A blue trim and Lions logo are key features of the cricketers traditional polo and trousers.
