ACSIS Junior School Cross Country

Congratulations to our Junior Cross Country runners who competed in the annual ACSIS Cross Country event as well as the Invitational race at Bedok Reservoir last week. Both events took place in great conditions, with cloud coverage and a light breeze providing an ideal setting for our young athletes to showcase their running skills.

The excitement was contagious as students from various schools across Singapore gathered at the starting line, eagerly awaiting the start of their races. Both 1.5km courses featured a mix of glat terrain and a few challenging corners, testing our runners’ skills.

A huge well done to all the participants for being selected and for competing in both events!

ACSIS Middle School Cross Country

The Middle School Cross Country squad competed in the hotly anticipated U12 and U14 Cross Country ACSIS Championships this past Tuesday. On what was a hot morning the runners did the school proud with a strong team spirit prevailing throughout the morning.

The busy start lines meant that getting to the front early was crucial and many of our multi sports athletes used their agility (and in one case hurdling skills) to pick a clear path through.

Once settled into the run our athletes acquitted themselves brilliantly with great effort being shown by all. Special mention goes to Maya E, gold medal winner in the U14 girls, and Annie N, Olivia ON and Gabrielle A who came 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively in the U12 race.

TTS won the U12 Girls Team event and came third in the U14 Boys event.

Well done to all!

Asia Rugby Emirates U18 7s Tournament

What a fantastic weekend it was for the Asia Rugby U18 7s! We’re proud to announce that Tanglin Trust School had the largest representation of any single school, with seven national representatives from Singapore: four from the U18 Girls and three from the U18 Boys teams.

Year 12: Emaan S, Ayesha B, and Millie DM

Year 13: Aiseece U, Edward B, Kayden C, and Lincoln N

Congratulations to the UAE for their victory in the U18 Boys competition and to Hong Kong for triumphing in the U18 Girls division!

The competitive spirit displayed during the U18 tournament is just what the region needs. Pathways for young athletes are crucial, and it’s inspiring to see the dedication and collaborative efforts of the regional unions pay off!

A special thanks to the Singapore Rugby Union this experience will be invaluable for our players And a big shoutout to our own Coach Declan; the players are fortunate to have your guidance!

SAS Eagles Invitational Swim Meet

Merlions had their largest team yet, with 75 swimmers travelling together to Woodlands to compete for the first time at Singapore American School.

It was wonderful to witness older swimmers engaging with the younger, less experienced members, as well as the new families joining the Merlions Swim Team.

This camaraderie led to an impressive number of personal bests, with nearly in many personal best times, almost 100% rate from the juniors, and happy experiences as the seniors finished their introductory racing period before testing themselves at the upcoming PX Invitational and Senior Merlions Gala, before championship meets in second half of term.

Shoutout goes to Vivaan, Olivia C, Gabby, Josh, Forrest, Calum and our strong contingent of Juniors led by Monty, George, Sissi, Hana and Kiana for swimming all personal bests in the day.
