Our Tanglin Netball 18&U Lions recently had the incredible opportunity to travel to Dubai and compete in the prestigious Dubai 7's tournament. This marked a historic moment as the first time a Tanglin Trust School team participated in this event, and the girls rose to the challenge with skill, determination, and team spirit.
Day 1: A Strong Start
The tournament, held from Friday, 29th November to Sunday, 1st December, began with our Lions facing tough competition in the Open Youth category the highest level for their age group. On the opening day, the team showcased their resilience and skill, achieving two wins, one draw, and one loss.
Day 2: Overcoming Challenges
Day two brought more intense matches, and the Lions continued their spirited performance, adding two more wins to their tally while facing a single loss. However, the day was not without challenges. One of our players sustained an injury, requiring hospital treatment. Despite this setback, the team made swift adjustments and pulled off another impressive win, earning their place in the quarter-finals.

Day 3: A Battle to the End Quarter-finals day saw the Lions take on formidable opponents with determination and grit. The team started strong, holding their opposition at bay until halftime. However, Dubai College’s sharp shooting ultimately turned the game in their favour. The Lions bowed out of the tournament, proud of their efforts against the eventual champions.
Congratulations, Lions! Your hard work, adaptability, and passion have set a high standard for future teams. Here's to more milestones ahead!

FOBISIA Rugby
Our U13 & U14 Rugby squads took a trip across the boarder to compete in this years FOBISIA Rugby competition at Marlborough College, Malaysia.
Both teams went into the competition missing some key players which provided a great opportunity for some of the wider squad to be involved. The U13s started off with a narrow loss to Dulwich College before beating Marlborough College A & B and then finishing the afternoon with two tough games against local Malaysian club teams finishing 4th overall.
The U14s got of to a great start beating Bangkok Prep before losing a tight contest to local club side Vikings, they finished the day with a great win against Marlborough College to take 3rd place overall.
Congratulations to Calum M and Xavier D who were voted players of the tournament for the U13s and U14s respectively.
We now look forward to some Rugby 15s action in the New Year.

Y3 and Y4 Football Festival
Last week we hosted a Year 3 and Year 4 football festival where we had around 50 students each day taking part in a fun afternoon of football. It was a festival atmosphere and the students experienced a lightly competitive environment, representing a team, playing matches and having fun.
There were lots and lots of goals scored, many metres covered on the pitch and plenty of tired faces at the end of both days. Each and every student demonstrated enthusiasm, sportsmanship and excellent teamwork.
Three key character strengths to develop as they progress through Junior School and take part in sport. Thank you to our senior school CAS students as well who refereed our games each day and provided support for their younger peers.
