International Schools Climbing League 2025Round 1

Exciting Start to the ISCL 2025 for Tanglin

Climbers

Tanglin brought a strong contingent of 35 climbers across three age categories. Of particular note is the impressive group of seven female climbers in our youngest division.

Historically, we've had fewer female competitors on the climbing team, so seeing this new wave of young athletes is a promising sign for the future.

14U Cricket

Playing at home, the 14&U Cricket team recorded another excellent win against a tough OFS team.

Batting first, Tanglin posted a competitive score against strong bowling, with Thejas, Saket, Sams, Ammar, and Liam guiding Tanglin to 118 in 18 overs.

In response, Tanglin bowled brilliantly, with Arjun and Nirvaan taking early wickets. Nirvaan’s 3-wicket haul was particularly impressive, with his accurate in-swing. Himansh, returning from injury, took two wickets, while Abir, Saket, and others contributing to a strong bowling display. Liam’s wicket-keeping was excellent, and Dhruv and Kian fielded with great effort to deny OFS in a tight finish under floodlights.

Phoenix Swimming Invitationals

The Tanglin Merlions had yet another big turn out at the Pheonix Invitationals last Saturday. We had 50 juniors and 45 seniors racing in their respective sessions, out of which 95% achieved personal best times. It was great to see our young merlions getting more confident with their marshalling procedures and racing strategies. The results definitely shows!

A special mention to these swimmers:

Our Year 4s racing in their first external meet as a Merlion: Garrick, Stella, Victoria, Ophelia and Freya.

Carina achieved a highly competitive time in the 100m Individual Medley, coming in 1st in her heat.

Both Emma and Eira’s 50m butterfly were phenomenal, all aspects of both their races were well executed.

Oliver’s hard work at training is paying off, with multiple personal best times. Daniel who is just returning from an injury achieved 2 personal best times.
