OUTDOOR LIVING IN A DESERT DAZE Headquartered in Palm Springs, Juniper House is the geographic embodiment of the luxury outdoor lifestyle. We sat down for an interview with Co-Founder Bob Allred to learn more about emerging outdoor furniture brands and trends.

Adept at fusing electrifying color combinations, multicultural reference points and hand-crafted elements into a singular vision, Barrett’s team mantra is to stay strong about the story – be it a Horse Farm in Florida, an apartment in New York or an estate in Beverly Hills. The work of Chris Barrett Design has been featured in such publications as Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Milieu Magazine and House Beautiful, among others. “I don’t do heavy,” says Chris Barrett - a statement that reflects the designer’s personality as much as her design aesthetic. Having grown up in Los Angeles, the thought of living both indoors and out comes naturally to her. Following her studies at UCLA’s prestigious Interior Design program, she has created stunning residential and commercial interiors that represent the chic simplicity and natural beauty that is Southern California living. Barrett’s approach is based on extensive research,

visioning and communication, always presenting a strong story and reliable snapshot for her client’s dream interiors. She is reverent towards the architectural history of each project but fearless in adding a light touch of humor within its framework. From 2006-2009, Chris lead the interior design team for the award-wining Los Angeles-based design and architecture firm KAA Design Group, collaborating on interiors at the highest end of the residential and commercial markets. Since the re-launch of the new firm under her own name in 2009, Barrett has applied this intimate knowledge of the early planning processes in architecture to add yet another key layer to her work. Barrett has served as president of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America, Southern California Chapter. Barrett has two grown children. She lives and works in Los Angeles with her two longhaired dachshunds, Bob and Frank.

Thanks to this philosophy, we gain a double advantage: on one side, we have the full knowledge of the ideational and productive process, and, on the other side, we have the absolute control over the quality of the results. Another important element of the Made in Slide philosophy is the supervision of the materials we use: low-density linear polyethylene is 100% recyclable and processed according to a zero-emission process, with a view to environmental sustainability that sees us close to Nonprofit associations that fight for the protection of our planet.
