GLOSSARY gem (n) a jewel, something precious or valuable. renowned (adj) well-known, famous.

This hidden gem stands in 74 acres of gardens and woodland on the edge of Hampstead Heath. The house has great views of the City of London and a renowned collection of paintings. And it served as one of the locations in the famous film Notting Hill.

Gods and Monsters explores the mythologizing power of the portrait and the shifting qualities of fame. From Hollywood studio portraits through to the rise of the paparazzi, countercultural influence and the new rock ‘n’ roll aristocracy.

The Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) is an annual beer festival organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). It presents a selection of cask ales and other alcoholic drinks from the UK and beyond.

When we went there in October everyone had a good time! The food has some similarities to Turkish and Middle Eastern food and is delicious. You can take your own wine!
