Welcome to Frances King School of English in London Frances King’s commitment to excellence has made us one of London’s leading English language schools. In addition to teaching adults all year round in our Kensington schools, we also offer a summer course for children (8-15 years) and optional courses for their parents and other family members. Children and their parents can join a course every week, from June 21 to August 16 and study for 1 to 9 weeks. Both adults and children are taught in the prestigious area of Belgravia near to the gardens of Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park. Age of children Our Junior Course is designed for children from 8 to 15 years. The programme is only for children accompanied by a parent or other adult family member over 21 and is not suitable
for children travelling alone or for groups of children. Children must be brought to the school each day and collected after the class.
Location Our Junior Course is taught in our Hyde Park Corner school in Belgravia, overlooking the gardens of Buckingham Palace, a short walk from Hyde Park Corner and Victoria underground stations. While children are at school in the morning, parents (and other adult family members over 21) have the option of taking the Adult Course which is a 7 minute walk from the school for children. Students older than 16 years can join a General English course (20 lessons/week from 09.00-13.00hrs) at one of our other London schools in Kensington or Marylebone.

Social Programme
Our teachers are all qualified to teach English and have been carefully selected for their experience and ability in teaching younger learners – they are enthusiastic, friendly and caring and offer fun imaginative classes for all ages and abilities.
We do not offer a special social programme for families but they can join some events on the Frances King social programme including weekly excursions outside of London and sightseeing events in London.
Course Director
End of Course Certificate
The Course Director for the London Junior Programme is Diane Briggs who has directed the programme for Frances King for more than 7 years. Diane is an experienced Course Director and teacher, particularly with younger learners.
At the end of the course, all children (and adults) will receive a Frances King certificate stating the level of English achieved during their class.

Accommodation Frances King can offer a variety of accommodation suitable for families, all located in excellent central locations close to public transport and tourist attractions. We can offer: homestays, studios, apartments, residences and hotel accommodation. There is an arrangement fee of £100 per family for all accommodation options. Homestay (A2-A11) ■ The most economical way of staying in London, with home cooking, pleasant conversation and comfortable surroundings. Homestays are located in good residential areas in zones 1, 2 and 3, travel time of 25-40 minutes by public transport to the school. ■ Single and twin rooms in standard, superior and executive homestays with a range of meal plans: bed & breakfast, half-board (breakfast and dinner) and 4 dinner plan (breakfast every day and evening meal 4 times per week). Supplement payment to guarantee private bathroom & Internet access. From £108/twin room/person/week (bed and breakfast)
Self-Catering Studios (A16, A19-A20) ■ Newly furnished self-catering studios (to sleep 2-3 people) in excellent locations in Bayswater and Kensington (zone 1), travel time of 15-20 minutes by public transport to the school. ■ Decorated to a high standard and well equipped with private bathroom/shower, television and DVD, telephone, kitchen area for the preparation of light meals, daily cleaning and free wireless connection. From £385/person/week (depending on length of stay and studio type)
Budget Apartments (A36-A37) ■ Simply furnished self-catering apartments, in pleasant locations in zone 1, travel time of 25-45 minutes by public transport to the school. ■ 2 bedroom apartments (to sleep 5 people) and 3 bedroom apartments (to sleep 7 people) with single, twin and triple rooms and a budget price for larger family groups. ■ All apartments have a sitting room with a television, well equipped kitchen with washing machine, weekly cleaning and bathroom with a bath and a shower. £880/week/apartment (2 bedroom) or £1130/week/apartment (3 bedroom)
Deluxe 1 and 2 bedroom Apartments (A16) ■ Stylishly furnished self-catering apartments, excellently located in zone 1, in Kensington and Mayfair. 10 minute walk from Mayfair and 15-20 minutes by public transport from Kensington to the school. ■ 1 bedroom deluxe ( 2 people in 1 bedroom and 2 on a sofa bed in the main area) and 2 bedroom apartments (2 people in each bedroom) with a private bathroom and the latest in-room technology including cable television and DVD, telephone, well equipped kitchenette with washing machine and dryer, daily cleaning and free wireless connection.
