BRIGHTON DAY TRIP
GLOSSARY
Sat 27th Jun
We will go to a very good fish and chip restaurant to have battered cod or haddock with chips and mushy peas - delicious! Because the restaurant does not have a licence, you can bring a bottle of wine from a shop to drink in the restaurant.
Richard the Lionheart is dead. His less than heroic brother, John, is determined to keep his grasp on the English throne, in spite of the stronger claims of his nephew, the young Prince Arthur. Increasingly threatened by Arthur’s supporters at home and in France, John finds the answer to his woes: he will blind the boy with hot irons.
This celebrates the Queen’s Official Birthday, held in June when the weather is nicer (maybe). Her real birthday is in April! There will also be a RAF fly-past.
Paco's newest show FLAMENCURA explores that elusive state at the core of the art of flamenco. Art in all its forms has the potential of creating alchemy between an interpreter and the audience, transporting them into a mysterious level of emotion.
A Sunday morning tradition for many East Enders, Brick Lane market is a vast hotchpotch of stalls selling leather clothing, second-hand furniture and bric-a-brac. Here, second-hand stores and leather shops line the actual market itself, and hot dog stands compete for trade with the many cheap and cheerful Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants, trendy bars, and a famous 24-hour bagel shop.
