River Cleaner 2018 Design for River Trash Cleaning. Aim to solve aqua plastic pollution.
Designer: Plastic pollution has become serious environment issues these recent years. Our team do in-depth investigation into this issue and found out that the source of the plastic is mainly comes from the inland river. Thus, we decide to deal with this issue at the very beginning to eliminate further pollution.
River Cleaner is a real-time oating trash collector located at riverbank. This system is composed of convey leaves and baes, which blocks and transfers river trash immediately. River Cleaner, save our river.

nearly 90% comes from world most polluted river, and 2/3 from Asia.
10Million/year marine life dies due to plastic pollution
Stagnant trash causes pollution in local environment.

aim. 'We tend to design a sustainable and long-lasting system to cope with trash disposal, and integrate into the green environment.'
Design. Figure out and classify numerous methods to gather, collect and recycle the plastic waste, then pick out the best solution by considering the surrounding, marine lifes, water currents influence and other natural factors.

Concept.
To make sure the spiral leaf modules work, we 3D printed different version and test it in the water. Besides, we mock up a 1:10 model to check the size and relation between river, trash, human height and our products.
Test.
We set up a 1:100 landscape and recycling station to mock the real river trash recycling situation to share and convince others our idea and get feedbacks to improve.

TriCooler 2018 Design for Esophageal Patients. Make Better Dining Experience.
According to a research, high temperature foods and beverages may i n c re a s e a p e r s o n's risk of developing e s o p h a g e a l c a n c e r. Cells can become so damaged from the habit of consuming too hot foods that they b e c o m e c a n c e ro u s .
Tri-Cooler is a soup cooling device that can suit any size of bowl, provides a better eating quality for Esophageal patients feel more peace of mind to eat, not bother with hot food problem.

Background.
- Esophageal patients facing a lot of inconvenience during dining occasions.
Esophageal patients might have to let food or beverage to cool down a bit ever ytime before they eat to avoid the heat burns their throat. H o w e v e r, t h e s e w o u l d make them less willing to dine with others due to the difficulties they f a c e . M o r e o v e r, t h e i r speciality will cause inconvenience to others.

Persona.
Esophageal cancer patients (radiotherapy) Mr. Yi 70-year-old male He is a cheerful and humorous elder. He couldn't speak normally and having swallow difficulty due to the pain. Despite the need for radiation therapy and surgery, he remains positive and optimistic.He feels that the challenging surgery is just a trifle.After a number of radiotherapy taste becomes dull. Everytimes when he eats, he have to use the lips to test the temperature of soup before eat them slowly.
Point Of View 1. Cannot eat hot, hard and large pieces of food. 2. Feel uncomfortable and lack of taste while eating. 3. Esophageal patients should take small amount of meals and eat slowly.

Beyond Bottle 2017 A combination of eastern and western style & culture.
东 方 红 木 - a Chinese furniture company, mainly produce wood furniture with a Ming dynasty styling.
Throught out this project, I learn how to estimate and control the product's material and processing cost.
Coorperating with the company, we have to design a series of souvenirs for their furnitures' museum using the RED wood.
Besides, in the process, I learn to communicate with wooden masters and manufacturers to make the design and output successful.

Beyond Bottle - Wine Cork Combining ancient wine ware's form with modern red wine bottles,express the Chinese charm in a simple new Chinese style. When the cork is not in use, it is a wine decoration that can be placed on the table; When you plug the wine bottle, you will see the shape of a bottle on another.

Peeler 2017 User Centered Design Rapid Design
By study through different persona from different fields and background, I found that people major in different domain and the working surrounding will affect the form and main function of peeler. Base on the study, I design two kinds of peeler for people from different fields a n d b a c k g ro u n d e a c h .

Bacon Tan - persona 1. Men, 23 years old, height 188 cm, big palm, right handed. Student and also chef. Cook both western and eastern food. Good in making South East Asia traditional food. Interested in study recipes, fishing and play basketball. Use peeler frequently during food preparation.
scenario. 'Peel often stuck in the middle of peeler’s blade. Persona has to use finger to take it off. This action will increase the risk of getting hurt by the blade especially for chef who have to work fast.'

Zhi-Min Lin - persona 2. Men, 24 years old, height 173 cm, right handed. Student and office worker. Tennis player, sportsman and foodie. Constantly eat fruits(apple, pear, kiwi and etc.)
scenario. 'During lunch time in office, he wants to eat apple but does not have a peeler to peel it. Thus, he has to clean the surface and eats it directly with its peel. '
However, common peeler is big and inconvenient to bring along.

Collector 2016 A redesigned disposable syringe box for Third World Country
In regard of the resource shortage, chaotic situation and the requirement of high work e f f i c i e n c y f o r T h i rd Wo r l d International Medical Station, we redesign the syringe package and syringe disposal container to a “box�, Collector, to avoid the litter of needles and being pricked. With green and low cost thickpaper material, this products will be popularized and, the withstanding capability and workability of this product is proven.

Problem. - biochemical waste, third world countries
'Litter of needles - representing a real danger for anyone walking past'
risking life. Most of the dangerous diseases are spread through needle accidentally in third world countries. Relief volunteers often expose themselves in risky environment due to the chaotic atmosphere and without knowing it.
packaging. Syringe and vaccine that sends to medical camp in third world country is mostly pack in simple cardboard made boxes for convenient transportation and low produce cost.
disposable needle container. Disposable sharp needle container is a special tool for removing and collect the used needles after injection. However, some of the volunteer medical camps in third world country usually
