Spring Cleaning

Like many, there is something about the fresh air and sunshine that puts me in the mood to declutter and get my house deep cleaned. Maybe after being inside for the winter I tend to notice so many things we don’t use anymore or have outgrown. It seems after we became parents, we somehow had so much more things within our household. How did that happen? Ha. But in all seriousness, my house being freshly cleaned and put together is good for my soul.

Easter Egg Hunts

Easter egg hunts were always so much fun growing up, and I love watching my kids run around looking for eggs, putting them in their adorable little baskets and opening them up to see what’s inside. Their faces light up when they find a piece of candy or a coin inside. I remember hunting eggs at my Mamaw’s house growing up. My cousins and I would line up in her backyard. They would yell, “Go,” and we would all take off running around her house and up the hill in her backyard. It was so much fun making those memories, and I so enjoy watching my kids making the same memories with their cousins and friends, too!

Anniversary

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in April. It is so hard to believe it has already been ten years. We have gone through so many life changes from buying two homes, having two beautiful and amazing kids, making job changes and more. Our wedding day was such a special day because I was not only marrying my best friend, but we were able to get married on my dad’s birthday. Since I had lost him to cancer three years before, it meant so much to me that we were able to share our special day with him. What a beautiful life my husband and I have built, and I can’t wait to see what the next ten years bring! Spring is headed our way, and I could not be more excited! Warmer weather means we will all be able to soak up some vitamin D outside sooner than later. I enjoy a little bit of every season, but the winter months are the hardest. It is nice to knock out weekend projects when we spend more time inside, but as spring approaches, I find myself anxiously ready for when I can wear sandals, roll my windows down in my vehicle, take my kids to the park and go for walks.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and I truly can’t put into words what it means to me to be a mother myself and have the absolute greatest mother and motherin-law a woman could ask for. I am truly blessed. My mom is my best friend. The relationship we share is so special, and I was so fortunate when I married my husband to not only gain another mother but another best friend. She has been there for me and our family in so many ways, just as my own mother, and I cannot wait to celebrate all the special mothers in my life. Children light up our worlds, and I thank God for my beautiful daughter and handsome son.
