The Buzz
On Thursday, January 27, Henderson County Schools celebrated their 100th day of school. Students were encouraged to dress up, showing off their personalities and creativity by wearing a 100th day shirt or making their own shirt with 100 items. The Child Nutrition Department took special treats around to the schools. It was a fun day for all, especially this year, as the schools are back to in-person learning and are able to continue taking part in activities and milestone celebrations together as they work hard this school year.
LOCAL BUSINESSES COLLABORATE TO HOST KIDS DAY AT FALCON CREEK BOUTIQUE
On Saturday, February 12, Falcon Creek Boutique hosted a Kids Day featuring Whims & Wishes. Kids enjoyed a fun morning as they read “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons” followed by a paint party where kids were able to put on their creative hats and paint their very own Pete the Cat. Treats were also provided and, of course, parents enjoyed shopping one of the newest children’s boutiques in Henderson.
HOLY NAME STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT THE CHINESE CULTURE FROM LOCAL PARENT
Holy Name School recently had a visitor in Mrs. Dusti’s class from Sally He, mother to student Sarah Ann Tweddell. Sally shared with the children information about China. She taught them words for fruits and animals. She talked about foods that are commonly eaten and how to eat with chopsticks. The students even got to try them out for themselves. Sally also shared some candy from China with the students. It was a fun visit for the class to learn about a different culture.
