Fashion: A Voyager As the world is becoming more and more materialistic by the day, fashion is one domain that is growing on a very rapid pace. In places which have not been much known for fashion such as India, UAE, Indonesia, etc. The industry has been expanding extensively. But the question that arises here is- “where exactly do these trends come from?” If you track the various fashion events that happen across the world, you’ll notice how the numbers grow every year. Since 1945, when the first fashion week took place in New York, till today, there are some 100 fashion weeks that have started taking place every year. As you must know, Fashion weeks are held as per two major seasons - Autumn/ Winter and Spring/Summer. Starting at the Main fashion capitals, New York, London, Milan, Paris respectively, the event is followed in other cities and eventually at the capitals again. As the fashion events take place in a cycle, it can be said that the trends also travel the world in a cycle. It has been seen and accepted that most of the trends in the world is adopted from the fashion capitals. However, it takes
Beauty Conquers All
We are more than 7 billion people on earth, many believe in god and many don’t. But there is still hope. There is always an escape button which you press and disappear into a world of oblivion. There are many such escapes that offer a place of serenity and serve the human kind to dwell and explore. In layman, we call them “Religious Sites” Basilica of San Vitale, Italy is a church. Churches are usually assumed to attract only the believers. However this basilica is a bit opposite standing, as it is a symbol of mosaic art and Italian architecture. UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site is the bystander for this. To Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan is a journey worth the destination. A retreat for trek lovers, It is Nestled in an about 3,000 ft. above Paro valley and gives an allusion of a dangling garden. How often can ruins of an underground salt mine can be converted into a cathedral and still attract atheist as well? Located in Columbia near the town of Zipaquira, Salt Cathedral also houses a geology and mining museum to keep everyone entertained. Angkor Wat is one shining example yet the most striking one. Located in Cambodia it is one of the biggest religious complex in the world, built around 900 years ago. The temples there are a beauty to behold. Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe Chapel, France, located near Le Puy-en-Velay, France is situated atop a volcanic rock 280 ft. in height. This 10’Th century church provides majestic view of the surrounding village and is a must visit for anyone. These places are visited by people from all around the world and are recognized to satiate their thirst. Nevertheless, Even if you’re an atheist you should visit these places just for your sanity and reduction. Regardless of people being atheists or believers, places like such still exist, where we can connect and come together and make the world a slightly smaller and bring people closer.
the trends two to three seasons to move across the world. For instance, if a trend starts in New York in 2015 summer, it will reach Russia or Egypt in summer 2016 or 2017. Moreover, it’s not true that the fashion travels as it is. It changes its specifications rapidly on its journey. The foundation of these changes would be purely the culture variations amongst the places. Getting back to the idea of fashion traveling in a cycle, it certainly doesn’t specify that fashion capitals adapt the trends from other cities. But it denotes to the fact that they use their cultures as an inspiration to define their trends. For example, Moschino’s spring summer collection in London Fashion Week 2013 S/S was extensive inspired by the African culture. Therefore it sums up to fashion being a two-way traveler, one according to the trends, and other according to the culture. And it is needless to mention how fashion also rides over “time”. Every 7-10 years, the trends repeat themselves in one form or the other. Therefore it is necessary to have knowledge of the world to understand the roving of fashion.

Hotel Review: The Venetian THE VENETIAN LAS VEGAS
THE VENETIAN MACAU
The Intercontinental is claimed to be the most luxurious hotel chain in the world by Amanda Lauren (Top 12 Most Luxurious Hotel Chains Around The World, 2014). Intercontinental has also envisioned a sub brand called “The Venetian” which currently has 2 branches , One in Las Vegas, U.S.A. and one in Macau, China .Venetian Macau is huge (10,5000,000) sq. Ft compared to the foremost venetian Las Vegas (12,000) sq. ft. However the two are prominently similar. The Venetian was created with a sole purpose of creating a virtual Venice and it’s iconic heritage like Doge’s palace, st. Mark’s square and Gondola ride. Be sure to look up the roof because it’s more than iconic. The rooms are all suites and drip with over the top Bing from marble flooring to huge awnings to spend your evenings. The vibe is totally about over the top Italian elegance, luxury and service that money can buy. Period. Even the Michelin starred restaurants and the aliveness of the Venetian is hard to miss. The sheer scale of things and over the top Italian flair does justice to the premium Venetian demands and is justified even after just spending one night, Although one night is too less to roam and soak in the experience . Very few hotels manage to leave an everlasting impression on the travelers and Venetian manages it rather very well.
The Declining Status of Airlines Safe Vs. Cheap The world is shrinking, we are coming closer. Airlines are bringing us closer. The De facto is that airlines are fastest and the “safest” way to commute to lands far off. However the whole term “safe” has gone for a roller coaster ride in this case. Aircraft accidents have been growing by the day, keeping in mind the Flight 370 and Malaysian airlines flight no 17 being shot out of the sky. This has caused a major fear among the travelers. The problems faced by air travelers don’t end here. This has barely scratched the surface. On time performance, for which the airlines were known have now declined enormously. The burnt if felt by the travelers who have a connecting flight or some important work to do. Coming down to the trending low cost carriers, There is a new concept in the aviation industry “provide cheap air tickets to travelers, and take away all the services”. Now the economy class has started to feel like we have committed a crime by not being able to
afford the business class. Forget extended travel services, sometimes the flights don’t even provide with a free glass of water. At least the national ones don’t. We pay a fortune for the tickets and what we get is a free magazine with a rip off food menu in it. Earlier, the weight allowance wasn’t much of an issue with travelers but now even that has been added to the woes. 15-20 KG + hang baggage. Think about the students going to study abroad. Doesn’t it almost sound felonious? Nevertheless, Flight cancellation is the most frustrating part. They claim the reasons to be weather issues, even when the sky is bright and clear. And let alone returning you the money, they wouldn’t even provide you with a comfortable replacement. Sure the traveling costs have reduced but the woes and difficulty faced by the travelers have only grown up high

Transportation has all been about getting from one place to another . In this fast placed world and life we are excessively dependent on getting their faster . Sometimes we forget to celebrate the journey as well as getting there is rather more important than the destination , After all local transportation should be all about carrying the essence of that place it’s history and vibe . People usually take taxi / train / Metro and luxury cars and get there from point A to point B . Quite contrary to this Asia known for it’s unique vibe and cultural and successfully infused it in the various forms of transportations available and to be enjoyed by the tourist to fully immerse them in the flavor and celebrate the journey rather than await the destination . We have chosen Asia as well because of it’s deep rooted culture and it’s various amazing implementation on transportation Hand pulled rickshaw – Japan &India : Hand pulled rickshaw could be vividly imagined a background photo in the pro colonial era . Hand pulled rickshaw’s can be found in Kyoto Japan and in Kolkata India . Such minimalist is the design that is relatively easy to pull around the rickshaw coupled with lean

When you hear “Rome”, you think of the city Rome that’s the capital of Italy. And why wouldn’t you, it’s a beautiful place, with indispensable history and an extremely rich culture. However, it’s a little biased to give the European city so much importance; because the fact is that there at least one Rome in all the 5 continents, namely, the Asian, American, African, European and the Australian continent. This fact is so bewildering that it has made to many fact pages around the world yet people found it striking. To begin with the original spelling of Rome in Italy is Roma. And If we look up the world, map there are cities called Roma on all continents (Inhibited). If we begin with Roma in Indonesia, Asia in west Java, there is another Roma situation in the Australian city Queensland with a population

and strong built of the puller . Plus Hand held rickshaw is also environmental friendly . Tuk tuk – Thailand : Probably the most famous mode of transport in all of Asia . Brightly colored 3 wheeled wonder managing their way through the streets on Bangkok is a must try for every tourist . Tuk Tuk’s are intensely decorated and maintained as a symbol of Thailand’s ingenuity and the drivers are famous for taking curves and turns at impossible speeds to give the tourist a “Ride of their lifetime “ and make their way through thickly populated city of Bangkok through streets and by streets / alleys . Tuk Tuk’s are also famous partly because they are not so heavy on the pocket and high on style quotient . Jeepney – Philippines – Not always is the after math of a war devastating for a country . Some times it Can lead to it’s development of something unique also . After the second world war Manila was devastated with no means of transportation what was left behind was America’s iconic Jeep . With modifications to the chassis and elongating it a bit it can now accommodate upto 1-15 passengers facing each other on either side sitting on a bench . Jeepney’s are also passionately decorated and operate unlike a bus with no route laid out . People can halt
it wherever they feel like and board and De – board . As is the size it is aptly called the “King of the road “ . Auto rickshaw – India : A tamed down version of the tuk tuk is the easiest way to out it . But the Indian auto rickshaw has it’s own individuality . India has different version’s of the Auto rickshaw in different cities’ as in Delhi they are powered by C.N.G and in Mumbai they are colored yellow . Great way to bust the traffic and squeeze through the lanes is a joyride in it’s own . The fare is calculated according to the distance traveled and favored by the daily commuters and tourist alike. Songthaew – LAOS : Started in Thailand but became popular in the neighboring state of laos also . As they say necessity is the mother of invention . People invented this unique form of transport by using a tractor engine and using manual handles to steer the vehicle . Songthaew literary means wooden Benches and the name seems apt when you see the vehicle with 2 benches facing each other . The roof is made of tarpaulin and might seem to be there to just get the job done and it does in the rural areas where it thrives over rough patches .

Roma Lesotho in Africa is surrounded by sandstone cliff and inhibited by about 1,00,000 people, the city is located 34 km southeast of Maseru capital of Lesotho. In an interesting turn of measures, South America has 2 towns named Roma- ‘Puerto de Roma’ and ‘La Roma’ – Rising of an altitude of nearly 31 meter and a population of 17,000. Nothing might be special about these towns but are important enough to get their names on the record book! Last remaining continent is USA, The city ‘Roma los Same’ is located in the State of Texas with a population of 10,000, built in year 1936. It serves as a port of entry from Mexico into U.S.A. All this cities just go on to highlight how much we have hyped the “ROMA” in Europe and can’t help but think of it as the only one in the world.
European Fashion Eras
Europe is a versatile continent, and is said to have influenced the entire world in many ways. The world has accepted the European art, European language, their culture, architecture and what not. However one major entity of Europe that has been adapted worldwide is its fashion. And I believe that Europe would lose its essence inadequately if it would lose its art and fashion. It’s the chic elegance of the European countries that lead to this time where 3 out of the 4 fashion capitals are European. Fashion has been enfolded throughout the history of Europe, or we can claim aforesaid vice versa. If one ever mentions the “Ancient fashion”, what strikes the mind foremost is the Greek and the Roman drapes. We think of the most worn fabrics by Romans, Wool and cotton; and their dress codes that differed according to genders, social status
and spoken languages. Their drapes were generically called Toga and Stola; whereas, the Greek fashion was all about the fitting and the different styles of drapes. It’s been a trend since the ancient times that the rich dress differently than the poor, for a simple reason, because they can ‘afford it’. Just like the Luxury brands and the street shops. We still dress up differently based on our social statuses, genders and our cultures. After the Ancient drapes had defined the difference between men’s and women’s clothing, the Medieval Age gave birth to exploring different silhouettes. They moved away from the rectangular drapes and created Bodices and jackets. Eventually by the 15th century there were elaborated silhouettes like the trailing skirt, the waistcoats and the overcoats. These were a big part of the French court and had a major influence in the start of Italian Fashion. There After, such rapid evolution proceeded in the European Countries in terms of art and fashion, that we study them as “eras” till the present time. The foremost was the Baroque Era which we
know for its exaggerated details and the over use of drama. The museums in Europe still have some of the magnificent sculptures and paintings produced during this time period of 17th century. This was the time when the waistlines started moving upwards and the “lace” came in being. Also the hyped culture of men in costumes was a conception of Baroque era and so were the classic, gorgeous petticoats. The world hasn’t moved ahead much, as we still clearly recall the European women dressed in the puffed-up petticoats with expounded hairdos. While the Western Europe was living the last years of the Baroque, The Italian And the French fashion came together to form the Rococo Era. The summit of Rococo progress in France was represented in the 1730s. Rococo still preserved the taste of Baroque for complicated forms and
intricate designs. However, by then, it had started to incorporate a selection of diverse characteristics, together with a flavour for Oriental patterns and asymmetric compositions. After Rococo gave a division to the full dresses, to be worn for formal occasions such as at the Court; and the every-day, daytime garments, to be varied, Queen Victoria Came in the scene. Being one of the most famous and important period for Europe, the Victorian era brought out the significance of fashion in women’s lives around the world. It was the rise of Haute Couture in Paris in the 1900s which was separates Victorian Era from the 20th century. These were the times which we now refer to as the 60’s and the 70’s. However by now, cinema started laying a major impact on Fashion and the “pop-culture” came in being. However there has always been a difference between the American pop culture and the European classic chic.

How an American Portrays Europe Vicky Chistina Bacelona is an American Movie, Directed by Woody Allen in 2008. It serves to the genre of ComedyDrama. The Movie is about two American Best Friends (Vicky and Christina) who Visit Spain on a vacation. They visit two Spanish cities through the movie - Barcelona and Oviedo. The Movie is an implicit portrayal of Spain in terms of its beauty, its culture and mainly its art, nonetheless, the drama in the movie makes it a little less prominent and takes away the emphasis. The movie has been shot in both Barcelona and Oviedo, with a few shots from another Spanish City, Aviles. To the contrary of the movies name, Barcelona has been under portrayed in the movie, but the footage of locations such as the Roof top of Casa Milà, 92, Passeig de Gràcia, the The Míro Museum, etc cover for it. Oviedo has been portrayed massively in the movie as the male protagonist- Juan Antonio is showing the city around to the best friends.
The art and the architecture of Spain has been nicely brought out in the movie during the scenes when Vicky is studying Gaudi’s art, when Juan Antonio takes Vicky to listen to Spanish guitar, and many paintings and sculptures are seen throughout the movie. Another very interesting characteristic of the movie is the use of monotones of Orange and green amongst the scenes. These tints give a more artistic feel to the movie and complement its theme. Wood Allen also incorporated the Spanish Culture through the character of Joan Antonio’s ex-wife Maria Elena. Who is another Spanish artists and often talks in Spanish in the movie. The movie overall is a good representation of Spain and also succeeds in depicting cultural differences between the American and the European. Nonetheless the story of the movie will always remain a trump card.

E-commerce And Traveling Humans are social beings and every social animal likes to unwind. Every now and then we need to end the dullness, sit back relax and enjoy. Travelling is something which we all undertake. And with the growing Globalization, the use of Internet has prolonged. A lot is common between travelling and Internet, they both bring the world closer. Both have led to more interactions on a personal level and on the community level. Both have led us to gain a worldwide perspective and learn from others. Internet has led to ecommerce, another major phenomenon which is taking world by storm. Stating it simple, ecommerce means “buying and selling of goods on a digital platform”. Besides, buying and selling could be anything from travel packages, to travel needs, to all the information. For instance talking about www.expedia.com; www.makemytrip.com, these are some of the top websites which basically sell travelling. They have brought conveyance to masses and made bookings and hotel lookups pretty easy. Internet has also led to the introduction of the world of Applications, compatible with smart phones. What “apps” have done is bringing the world and it’s information into our hands at all times. These applications have helped us in various ways: All the information we need about a place, maps with Global Positioning System, Local transportation, necessary numbers etc. There are some applications which even help us with translation, which is a great boon for travellers. Such is the gain of technology. They even go to the extent of getting us a cab; take
the example of Uber Cabs or Taxi For Sure. Apps have taken the hassle out of travelling and taken away all the headache travelling was usually associated with. The expansion of travelling, ecommerce and developments of apps have jointly led to rise in the industry of travel blogging, travel reviews, travel shows etc. People have actually made a career and an industry out of it which is making billions of dollars. Thus it has led to people getting employed while providing some useful insight. But everything about ecommerce and development is not only positive and it has actually led to some drawbacks as well - The basic essence of travelling to new places was about getting lost and soaking in the essence. Now we have everything pre-planned and pre-booked, a chance of finding something new and exciting is missing now. Moreover, all people care about is to post pictures and selfies on social media platforms like Instagram and “Checking in” on Facebook rather than actually “checking out” the place, this evidently kills the spirit. Moreover it has led to the downfall of Travel agent’s whom we used to approach earlier for all out travel needs. Now we have everything in our hands and they are dooming. So to sum it up E commerce and apps made the travelling easy for the commuter but has to face the brunt of making everything too easy and reliable. Sure we can book and get know what to expect there sitting in our rooms but that takes out the essence of exploring and learning to let go in the flow of travel and let the journey take us places.

Relive Your Chilhood
“How I wish I didn’t grow up”, “If only I could travel back in time and relive those times of eternal joy once again”. These are some of our inner most desires. For most of us our childhood was the best part of us and getting back to childhood is our inner longing. But we know deep inside it’s not physically possible. However there are simulated time machines which I call ‘amusement parks and entertainment’. What was thought to be outright ridiculous is now possible. Yes, you read me right, we can relive our childhood once again . As the name suggests amusement parks offers to amuse one to fully soak in the feeling of childhood once again. After all, they always have rides which kids are not allowed on, so they are clearly made for elders and not kids. So go to a crazy amusement park and feel that tingly sensation in your
stomach when your roller coasters is about to go downwards. Go to Cedar point (U.S.A.) as it is the Roller Coaster capital of the world with over 18 Roller Coaster rides to choose from. Disneyland U.S.A. is another star attraction with Dedicated space for families to spend some quality time together. Rather go to any Disneyland in the world, and meet your favorite characters, life size. Play your favorite puzzles , Get around with fantasy parade and get clicked with them all you ever wanted to do as a child, do it once again . Get replenished with what your wants and desires were as a child and re live that life. Get into Merry – go – Round and get around what gave you eternal giggles as a child. Another childhood fantasy which almost every
child has is to get to visit a chocolate factory or a candy factory. Very much inspired by the “Charlie and the chocolate factory”, get up close and personal with what drew you as a child. Go to harry potter museums in London and Singapore, or the Hot wheels museum if you’re in California. For you might get to watch what you yearned to collect as a child. And don’t miss out on going to any toy factory to watch how your favorite toy which was your source of perennial joy. And not to forget, the Comic Con Festivals. Also whenever you go to a beach again, make sand castles and beach volley ball. There are may things around you which can help you rediscover the child in you. It’s okay to get lost for a while because while we get lost is when we discover ourselves. So go out there reclaim your life a Break from the monotony.
There are 196 countries in the world. And the Coca-Cola Wikipedia page believes that coca cola is sold in more than 200 countries around the world. Don’t we just love the confidence of this brand? Well, the truth is that coca cola is sold in 194 counties in present day (2015), which includes all countries in the world excluding Cuba and North Korea. I am a great coca cola fan and believe that it’s a true traveller. Not because it has travelled in every part of the world, but because wherever it goes, it adapts the place and becomes a citizen there. Like the Asians will never treat Coca Cola as an international brand.. Similarly even coca cola respects Asian cultres and values. They have a mutual understanding, exactly how a traveller and a destination should have. Everyone is aware of how coca cola evolved, but how many people know how it spread out? Here is a summary of the journey of Coke around the world Stating the obvious, Coke was born in the States and stayed there from 1886 to 1906. The few other that were left, such as Russia and easy Germany were covered in 1885 and 1990 respectively. While coke roamed around in the various small countries during this period, it re-entered India in 1993 and covered Vietnam in 1994. Take Lessons from Cultures
Like the individuality of a person is described by his personality, the individuality of a country is described by its culture. Culture is something which speaks while staying mum. Culture is all about carrying forward a legacy left by our ancestors. Whenever a tourist travels to a new place its culture is the first thing which the traveler tries to absorb, and if not, then they should. Culture is multi-Dimensional, and has characteristics such as history, architecture, art & craft and the values. There is a plethora of options available as a traveler to closely understand different aspects of a culture. Every place we travel to carries its own elements that lure the travelers to explore. Take for example the case of India where they worship deities, celebrate festivals with full Zeal and still believe in the historical traditions while setting a foot in the modernized present. And India is known to be the most diverse country on the planet. Therefore there is never enough you can learn from them. However yoga, home remedies, wearing their traditional clothing such as a saree or a dhoti, etc. are some of the practices that are a must to learn.
China is a communist country so might not be as free as other democratic countries, but is most definitely the most rapidly developing country in terms of both technology and economy. However it always had a gorgeously rich culture and always will. Their architecture is quite a beauty to behold and even represents their thinking on the structures with everything in proportion and sync. Martial arts, Chinese zodiac, Feng Shui are interesting art forms that can be learned from the Chinese. People of Spain could be seen as very happy folks who see happiness in everything and thank god for their life and enjoy to the fullest by the means of food, dance and festival. Madrid the capital of Spain is famous world over for its football club and over time Spain has produced some world’s renowned painters and philosophers since and it continues to inspire the world towards art’s. A lot of people think that a country doesn’t have a substance and a character but if they look through the Kaleidoscope of their cultures, they can see plenty of things which make a country it is what it is and stand unique in the world.
