5. METHODOLOGY OF STUDY

01 02 03 04

The methodology is a way to get to know about the topic related matters which can be gathered through different sources like:- o Internet o Books o Journals o Newspaper o Articles o Magazines etc. For this project priorly many discussions and brainstorming was done. According to the discussions done the sources of information were decided.

The sources that were choose for the project were video animations, journals for information, we also went through articles for statistical data.

Last but not the least internet act as the main source of information through out.

Discussions were done on the chosen topic and brainstorming was done in class as well as over virtual meet apps to evaluate study areas and lay out strategies for a proper campaign.

After the complete data analysis and studying the area, we made efforts to join an NGO who could help us carry out a visit to a school or a foundation.

Presentations on basic hygiene was prepared for progress of work. Later, Posters and banners were made to inform about the campaign.

With the help of 'WE RISE TOGETHER FOUNDATION' , it became possible for us to connect with the ANNANT UNNATI FOUNDATION and each out with children aged between 7-12 years, along with their mothers.

6. WORK DONE (POSTER MAKING)

6. WORK DONE (PRESENTATION MAKING)

6. WORK DONE (PRESENTATION MAKING)

The following presentation was an effort to teach little kids how their basic hygiene is everywhere and important to follow at all times.

The presentation was a combined effort by Tanya Gurung and Ishika Gupta

6. WORK DONE (CAMPAIGN VISIT)

The location of the campaign was at Indirapuram, Uttar Pradesh.

The whole campaign was majorly focussed on SHE HYGIENE, an awareness campaign by WERISETOGETHER FOUNDATION.

On reaching the campaign introductory of the campaign was given to the crowd.

We presented the brief presentation and then introduced the posters made for the same. Eventually the whole event ended with distribution of sanitary pads to the mothers of the children who were present.

7. Observations

The simpler our data was, the easier it was understood by the crowd.

Spreading awareness about basic hygiene and menstrual hygiene can still be considered as one of the major concerns.

Most of the women in outskirts of the city are still shy to talk openly. During our campaign, most of the women felt uncomfortable talking about periods and were reluctant to speak anything.

The children enjoyed looking at the simple presentation images.

The children of the underprivileged are yet to realise how important personal hygiene is for them as well as people around them.

The complete campaign was a huge success and was ended with huge gratitude and obligation towards the NGO, WE RISE TOGETHER FOUNDATION.

8. CREATIVITY/INNOVATION IN AREA OF STUDY

ACTIVITY

Step1: Roll clay or regular dough into a ball.

Step 2: Take toothpicks or cotton swabs and cut them into halves.

Step 3: Stick the halves into the dough, so they are partially inside the dough with remaining half sticking out.

That’s it! Your germ/virus model is ready

9. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

A growing body of evidence shows that girls’ inability to manage their menstrual hygiene in schools, results in school absenteeism, which in turn, has severe economic costs on their lives and on the country. The challenge menstruating girls and women face is often less tangible than simply the availability of infrastructure, and is rooted in social norms and beliefs. In many cultures, menstruating women are considered impure and are systematically excluded from participating in every-day activities, such as education, employment, and cultural and religious practices. Moreover, the taboos and stigmas attached to menstruation lead to an overall culture of silence around the topic, resulting in limited information on menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Such misinformation can have ramifications on the health and dignity of girls and women.

Given the multiple challenges women and adolescent girls face, it is evident that promoting menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is not only a sanitation matter; it is also an important step towards safeguarding the dignity, bodily integrity and overall life opportunities of women and girls.

9. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Good personal hygiene involves keeping all parts of the external body clean and healthy. It is important for maintaining both physical and mental health.

In people with poor personal hygiene, the body provides an ideal environment for germs to grow, leaving it vulnerable to infection.

On a social level, people may avoid a person with poor personal hygiene, which may result in isolation and loneliness.

Parents and caregivers should teach children how to keep themselves clean from a young age.

For example, they can start using toothpaste to brush a child’s teeth when they reach the age of 12 months. When the gaps between a child’s teeth close, it is important to start flossing.

Encouraging children to help clean themselves as soon as they are old enough is a good way to instigate a proper personal hygiene routine.

10. LEARNING OUTCOMES

After this presentation a person would know what is personal hygiene & what role it plays for women and girls.

A person would be able to Describe what are acceptable and poor personal hygiene practices.

He/ She would be able to Explain the elements and activities that are needed for personal hygiene.

To sum up most importantly the perspective of women and girls from rural areas would be changed towards the cycle of menstruation. As most of the women from rural backgroud are still not open about this topic.
