JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER IS MEETING PLACE FOR THE PEOPLE OF MAGDEBURG. IT IS A SOCIAL PLACE OF MUTUAL LEARNING, SHARING EXPERIENCE AND EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE. THE SITE IS SITUATED IN BETWEEN TWO BUILDINGS AND HAS AN ACCESS FROM ROAD IN BOTH DIRECTION OF OPPOSITE END. IN THE WEST SIDE THERE IS A HOTEL BLOCK AND IN THE EAST SIDE THERE IS AN APARTMENT BLOCK; AND THERE HAVE AN ACCESS AND A GREEN BELT IN THE APARTMENT SIDE. THEREFORE ONE OF THE MAIN CONSIDERATIONS WAS TO RELATE THE LINEAR BUILDING MASS TO THE OUTER ENVIRONMENT TO ACHIEVE A DIALOGUE WITH THE NATURE. THE BUILDING IS CONSIDERED AS A SINGLE MASS WITH AN OPEN AND FLEXIBLE LAYOUT HAVING MINIMUM SOLID WALLS. PEOPLE WILL GET A PLEASANT GREEN VIEW TO THE EAST SIDE THROUGH THE TRANSPARENT WALL MODULE WHICH IS HEAT RESPONSIVE DURING SUMMER. THE MODULE WILL OPEN RANDOMLY IN CASE OF EXCESSIVE HEAT. THE MAIN ATTRACTION OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER IS THE SYNAGOGUE, A NEW EXPERIENCE OF SPACE AS THE LIGHT IS GRADUALLY MOVING UP THROUGH THE GAP OF ELLIPTICAL AND TWISTED LOUVER. SEATING IS ARRANGED WITH THE HARMONY OF THE ELLIPTICAL SHAPED PLAN; WOMAN GALLERY IS PLACED IN THE GROUND FLOOR WITH A 1M LEVEL CHANGE FOR ACHIEVING A SINGLE VOLUME OF THE SCULPTURAL FORM.
SITE ENTRY
MIKVAH IS PLACED IN THE RARE SIDE OF THE BUILDING AND UNDER A GARDEN NAMED ‘GARDEN OF HEAVEN’ THAT ENSURES THE PRIVACY AND ALSO GIVE AN IMPORTANCE OF THIS SCARED PLACE.

The project was to design a store and exhibition space for collector’s items in Berlin. A tiny rectangular space in between two buildings was the place for this project. Therefore it was a challenge to fit the form in the space and also achieve an artistic look to draw an attention of the customer of different cultures in Berlin. The design was commenced through intensive studies of cell experiments to find out a complex geometry that will represent the sophisticated architectural expression of time and culture. The cell evolves from a circle and a set of tentacles are swirling around it. Ten cells in two layers around the center cell make a cluster and the tentacles are merged with the neighbor cells that makes the joint continuous and creates an swirling effect; thus the theme of the project ‘Swarm tentacles’ has come out. The central cell in all clusters are not upward, few are in downward that break the monotony of the cluster and gives a new experience to user both from inside and outside regarding with form and space. The joining cell in adjacent cluster is always in downward direction that helps the connection of tentacles to be merged in the same direction. Surfaces are filled in between tentacles through a series of experiments. Surfaces were articulated in different way, i.e. solid, fibered and a various combination of both. The combination of solid and fiber creates a natural pattern over the form and accentuate the effect of natural growth of the form; the patterns express the homogeneity of the form and give softness to eye of the users. The natural form has broken the rigidity of the surrounding environment in terms of geometry, color and pattern; thus it communicates with the message of ‘Other Geometries’, by John Rajchman. The key message the paper was ‘how does the non-orthogonal and non-rectilinear form affect us?’ The space is divided in three layers, in an integrated way. The segmented spaces are fused in the volume with each other, thus it gives a direction to the users to move one space to another. People may experience the inner volume from different level. All levels are connected physically and visually that makes the inner volume as a single space. The arrangement of the cells is changing in different level that brings a new moment to the users; blobs are fused and moving upward. In the ground floor there is a large lobby with the reception and the exhibition spaces are in different level. The display system is integrated with cells and also follows the lines of the tentacles. In some space there may have central display area that would be emphasized by the central cell of the top. All cells have responsive tentacles inward that response to the environment; it can open and close; also rotate to compensate with the sun position. It creates a nice pattern of shadow inside through the fibers

SELF-SUFFICIENT BUILDING Water Storage In urban situation, one of the main challenges is to achieve a healthy environment, in terms of living conditions, proper light and ventilation, green space and the food conditions. In the suburban and rural house people has adequate space to grow food in a micro level, but in the urban situation, spaces are tight and lack of green spaces all around.

In this project I proposed narrow food / vegetable shelves as we can go vertically in the city space. This will not only give us an opportunity to grow plant for fresh food, it will also be a place of free time pass, some physical exercise, meet with the neighbor and increase social interactions and most impotently its an option to bring a healthy environment in a micro level.

The site of Purbachal is chosen as it is a new development area of Dhaka city and the current situations are considered as challenges for the new development. Current scenario of Dhaka city is highly dense and lack of green space. Here proposed a new type of habitat that will meet the future in terms of shelter, green and food criteria.
