MINI DX-120 Travel Iron
A portable travel iron which can be used on bed for ironing clothes.
MINI DX-120 Travel Iron
USER: Travellers | Student residing in hostel
Target User Group: 18 - 40 yrs
MINI DX-120 is a portable travel iron with a curved soleplate. Mostly people don’t have access to a ironing board when they are travelling. Thus this iron is designed to use on the bed. Since the bed is soft, it takes the shape of the curved soleplate while ironing. It just glides smoothly over the fabric making ironing more fun and easy.
Why do you need a flat Soleplate if you dont have a Ironing Board? Most of us don’t have access to ironing board when we are travelling
Curved soleplate makes ironing easy on bed

The base facilitates iron to stand on bed without tumbling
MINI DX-120 Travel Iron
A Convenient Base It is very difficult for a normal iron to stand upright on the surface of the bed. This iron also has a base to make the iron sit on it. This acts as the cover when the iron is not in use. Now you can simply slide the iron into its base even if it is hot, without worrying about something getting burnt.

Continous frame element
NEON The Bicycle Project
The Concept The design breaks out from the usual double triangular frame structure used in traditional bicycles, instead it has a diamond shaped frame made from a T-section which makes it equally strong and gives a very interesting flow to it. This design is catered to create cycling as a new culture in India, where they would use bicycle for leisure, recreation, short distance commuting and daily chores, and yet be stylish, trendy and healthy.
Center shifts and gives a suspension effect when riding over bumpy roads n small obstacles. Figure shows how the geometry of the wheel changes during suspension.

The Wheel
The main highlight of this bicycle is the wheel which itself acts as a suspension on rough terrains.

ISOTONIC Music from Junk
A mechanism made of junk to make percussion music. *Group Project Members: Ashish Sanklecha, Heena Trivedi, Tapan Agarwal
ISOTONIC Music from Junk
Here we studied different mechanisms and developed Isotonic, where one just have to turn a crank to play music.
ISOTONIC Music from Junk
This works on the simple principle of camshaft. When you rotate the crank, the cam lobes pull up the drum sticks, (supported by tension springs) and strike the instruments. Here we have used junk like tin cans, plastic cans and waste MDF board as instruments.

EggePRY Boiled Egg Peeler
PIPE Material: Stainless steel
Solution: How do you peel a boiled egg? An innovative solution would be to blow air inside the egg so that the shell gets loose from the egg which can then be removed easily without damaging the egg white. EggePry allows you to do this simply and efficiently. Its faster than picking at the eggshell with your fingernails. Thus preserving more time for filling one’s belly with tasty egg yummess. Bon appetite!

Urban transportation System Design Project
Problem Area
Major Challenges
• Mt. Abu does not have an organized transportation system. Keeping in mind that Abu was declared an ‘Eco sensitive zone’ , the increasing number of private vehicles and buses are adding to the environmental instability. • From a Tourist point of view, the lack of accessible, convenient transportation facility restricts the ability to move around the town, unless one owns their own vehicle.
• No organized transportation facility within mt.abu • Increasing vehicles in the city causing environmental issues • Increasing number of the vehicles causing traffic/ road congestion • People dependant on alternate (inefficient) systems for a livelihood • Enhancing tourist experience by exposing them to the scenic beauty of Abu

The Plan
After extensive study of systems around the world and their technical, economical requirements, the team chose to integrate two major systems to create a major transportation system in Abu; aiming the year 2030
Strategy - Birds eye view Creation of a single, government-run brand of transportation. The idea was to terminate existing systems without harming the people dependant on such systems. This was achieved by planning the system over a period of 28 years (2012 - 2030)
The ‘New System’
ropeway + hybrid bus
The idea was to bring in the new system of a complete transportation system ropeway + hybrid bus. The system was designed to cater for the entire city of Abu. The proposal was a strategy planned for over 28 years, to incorporate these systems as the existing systems fade off.

MODEL Model making
Model
We had this course to build our workshop skills and develop sensitivity towards different materials and how they behave. We learnt different workshop operations and methods in the process of making the model. Orthographic views of different parts were made before making the model. All minute details were observed carefully and replicated in 1 : 0.8 scale.

FORM Form Studies
FORM TRANSITION
Form studies helped us to develop sensitivity towards different forms and visualize them in space. We manipulated elements of form to define a volume in space. Radii manipulation and form transition between 2D and 3D forms were key learnings from this course.
