We’ll always have the toy collectors and we will always have our boaters. We also have a solid base of buyers who, just like us, move here full-time.” “We generate most of our business by referrals. We love meeting new people, making them happy in the transactions and adding them to our ever-growing circle of friends after the work is done. We also introduce our clients to other past clients, and sometimes, they create relationships with each other,” explains

Brenda. Willie and Brenda often joke that they wouldn’t have friends if they didn’t sell Real Estate. “Almost everyone we know has either bought, sold or is a friend of someone who bought and sold a property in Lake Havasu City,” states Willie. “When we lived in California, we kept a place in an RV Park in Parker, Arizona called Verde West. Our 5th wheel and boat made for many fun-filled weekends, and our dream grew to move to Lake Havasu City one day. We had a 5-year plan that turned into a 2-week plan, and here we are!” Being outdoor enthusiasts, Brenda and Willie enjoy golf, camping, boating and riding their Razor in the desert—they understand exactly what clients are looking for in a Havasu home. Brenda combined her skills in marketing and customer service with her love of home staging and obtained her Real Estate License in 2005. Willie joined the business in 2008, and they created their own team of two, The G Force of Havasu. When advising, the duo suggests that a home buyer should have access to proof of funds or get a pre-qualification letter before they start looking for a home. Otherwise, they are a step behind and might miss the home they want. “A home can sit on the market for 30-60 days and suddenly more than one person is interested. If you are not ready, that extra day can make the difference and another offer might get accepted.” Another suggestion is to use local lenders if possible, “Typically, we get better communication from local lenders due to our established relationships.” When we ask what a seller can do to help increase the sale of their home, the two are

in agreement, “The most important thing a seller can do with the least amount of money is get curb appeal. Keep in mind, our buyers are looking on the internet before they make the trip here to buy. Give them a reason to take a closer look at your home. Be bold with your color, but don’t add clutter so it looks good in the pictures! And go through your home for deferred maintenance issues.” Other tips are to clean it or replace the carpet, if needed. It is always cheaper to correct in advance than to have a buyer lowball you because of work they perceive. A simple, inexpensive, but overlooked tip is to make sure all lighting works. Paint if you need it; a refreshed fresh home speaks in dollar signs back to you. Brenda and Willie work well as a team. Willie takes care of the social aspect of the business. He meets with the buyers and sellers, negotiates for the clients, and has great follow up skills. Brenda is the all-around behind the scenes person—internet and local marketing, client communication and knowledge of the data are her specialty.
