Personal Resume

30 years old architect from Myanmar with over six years of working experiences and skilful in making architectural design, aesthetic works, graphic works, collaboration and critical thinking. I believe the beauty of architecture exists not in the physical appearance of a building but the authenticity behind, which could be a statement in which it is standing, a process which has been carried along over a time period, a reveled memory which evoke by the circumstances, the enormous workforces which have been done to support it and the durability of a structure which shows through times.

Collect rain water but also solar energy for the residents and performed as a shelter for rooftop users

The word resilient dedicated not only for the environment but also for the living style, community relation and well being neighborhood which are currently we have been facing as one of major problems in Yangon’s housing estates. The city residents are craving for more greenery, like planting in the yard, more open and wider spaces for good ventilation and sunlight as well as community and public facilities.

Landscape Architecture & Environmental Design

Year 5, 2013

SITE PLANNING PROCESS

This project is a proposal for redevelopment of Botahtaung Jetty, not only a jetty but also used as shipping warehouses and temporary store area. Moreover it too served as recreation area for public as there also connected with Botahtaung Pagoda. It is a favourite spot for food shops, vendors, commuters as well as visitors who come to enjoy the riverside environment. This project try to emphasize on organizing different activities into one unique place by giving back necessary areas and combining with cargo park idea: planning a park with recycled shipping containers as sculptures, at the same time served as viewing and recreation towers for the visitors. Location = Botahtaung Township, Yangon Site Area = 3.9 acres

The primary geometry of the pavilion is base on octahedron, one of the platonic solid which represent element of air by ancient Greek philosopher Plato. The combination of three octahedrons and it structural concept also base on cantilever which symbolize also floating effect in the air. Moreover, the skin of the pavilion is not enclosed and completely cover with perforated sheets just to maximize the air flow and interact with environment. In addition, The triangular opening could enhance the interior exploring experience while taking every step.

TOPOGRAPHY STUDY

Ho Tràm is a small beach town located in Vietnam’s Bà Ria–Vung Tàu Province, in Xuyên Moc District. It is situated about 125 kilometers southeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Tram’s pristine, undeveloped beach front sits at just 2 hours from HCMC by car or 90 minutes via the ferry from HCMC to Vung Tàu. Ho Tram is poised to become a major resort destination as the region develops along with its “sister” beach destination Ho Coc, which is located at close proximity. Ho Tram provides for the nicest beach in the area combining unspoiled waters with a large and wide beach of clear sand and is an increasingly week-end destination for wealthy Ho Chi Minh City residents as well as emerging as a resort destination for international tourists.

The project is inspired by ancient Vietnamese sailing ships called Junks. These ships were used as seagoing vessels as early as the 2nd century AD. They were used throughout Asia for extensive ocean voyages. The historian Herbert Warington Smyth considered the junk as one of the most efficient ship designs and described it as “an engine for carrying man and his commerce upon the high and stormy seas as well as on the vast inland waterways”. The analogy with the sail ship symbolize Vietnam economic success through the recent years and its vigor even during difficult times. It also reflects Client’s vision to “redefine luxury lifestyle in Saigon and layout the foundations for a world-class city“ by developing “projects inspired by Vietnamese history and culture, while applying the most advanced technology and adhering to international standards”

The project is surrounded by natural landscape, public and green areas such as Yedagun Mountain, golf course, amusement park and canal. The main idea is to capture the views and optimize the sunlight & airflow. Therefore different designs of frame are introduced in the balcony area according to the location and visibility of the shophouses. Shading device such as louvers and depth of the frames are well design with the sun direction for preventing the extreme sunlight from outside while allowing the maximum view and airflow.

The central promenade is the main area for public surrounded by shophouses and this will be collection point for people to gather or have events. Branching off into-many zones from center become big scale public buildings such as the mall condominiums, hospital and 3 star hotel.

Inspired by the lost monastery near Atumashi and Shwe Nandaw Kyaung.

Monastery near the Atu-ma-shi: This was used as the officers Mess’ of the Munster Fusiliers in 1887. The building is unusual in that there are three seven-roofed spires as opposed to one over the shrine room. Army personnel with their servants can be seen in the foreground. Many monks were turned out of their monasteries and the buildings temporarily taken over by the British Army in 1885. Beato.

For the responsiveness to the climate, culture and comfort, the house consists of garden areas, huge semi-outdoors spaces as well as applying passive climatic control design considerations to perform harmoniously with nature. Moreover, the color and structural combinations also perform as an art work to existing neighborhood.

Millennium Caves

Since 2 millions year ago, people, homo sapiens, use to live in the caves, balance with the nature and other species. As times goes by, we migrate, we evolve, we create and we have become conquer the world. Sadly , we are not only conquering but also threatening the existence of the nature and other species. When the population getting rises, many cities has been found by wiping out the forest area and so many croplands, farmlands are found by clearing the home of the other species meanwhile the world’s existence is becoming vulnerable. Base on t his scenarios, I am always asking myself a question that “In coming millenniums, in stead of thinking only for human dimension, what if we create cooperate living with other species? Why are not we ideally live like caveman while applying our concrete jungles and technologies as a medium for other living animals, encouraging the growth of forest and bio diversity?” In this concept, I try to visualize if we could apply cooperate living with other species instead of one way living considering only for ourselves in future. Although the presentation of this concept is based on 2D digital form, I have a strong intention to apply in actual scale and also want to develop through architecturally to create the full experience.
