TasCOSS Annual Report 2020/21 (CEO Message) Adrienne Picone: Hello, everyone. Thanks for joining us as we reflect for a short time on TasCOSS's achievements over the last 12 months. It's been a significant year for TasCOSS and also for the community services industry. We've been integral to the recovery from COVID-19 and it's been a real year of resilience, but also of achievement. TasCOSS's mission is to change and challenge the systems that create poverty, disadvantage and inequality. And a key way that we work is to build partnerships across community services industry as we help to achieve that change. TasCOSS has asked over 350 Tasmanians on low incomes what they need for a good life. And what we hear again and again, is that people need a healthy, safe home. And that's why we're so pleased this year to see some announcements that will make a real difference in terms of household energy efficiency and make a real difference for Tasmanians on low incomes to have a healthy home. At the height of COVID-19, what we saw was the Tasmanian community services industry out there on the frontline keeping Tasmanians safe. And that's why we were so pleased to hear the announcement of $3.3 million to create 4,000 more jobs by 2024 to ensure that Tasmanians have the services they need where and when they need them. These past 12 months have been characterised by collaboration and partnership, working together for the benefit of Tasmanians. And that's why we were so pleased to relaunch the FindHelpTAS website and also be part of the Tasmania Report with the TCCI. Over the last 12 months, we've continued our focus on leadership and governance and that's why we were so pleased to release four new episodes of the Take Me To Your Board podcast. This year, we strengthened our commitment to having a statewide focus and that's why we were so pleased to host a dual event for our State Budget Briefing this year with an event both in Hobart and in Launceston. We also hosted a member event in Launceston with our board and we were so pleased to see over 50 members attend this event. This year marks TasCOSS's 60th anniversary. It was back in 1961 that TasCOSS started from a small group of committed individuals that wanted to create a community services industry peak body to represent the needs of the community. And I really want to acknowledge all the people that have contributed to TasCOSS's work over the last 60 years and thank you for that. TasCOSS is very fortunate to have such a committed board of governance, and I'd really like to take this opportunity to thank them for their contribution that they make to the work of TasCOSS and helping us to deliver on our mission. I’d like to acknowledge our President, Alex McKenzie. Thanks to our funding partners
