Advisory Program With input from parents, admissions interviewers, and the Dean’s Office, new students are assigned an advisor for their first year at Tabor. Most students remain with that advisor throughout their Tabor career, but students also have the option of switching advisors after their first year. Advisory groups meet as a whole group on Saturday School Days, and students typically meet weekly with their advisor one-on-one as well.
College Counseling The College Counseling Office has a long history of matching Tabor students with colleges and universities that fit their strengths and interests. The core of the college counseling program begins during fall of the junior year, but college counselors engage with sophomores, their parents, and faculty advisors to provide counsel to ensure students are on course in regard to academics, testing, and co-curricular opportunities. Our work enables sophomores to consider the college process in a developmentally appropriate way. Tabor’s college counselors work with an average of only 26 students, enabling them to provide an extraordinary level of expertise. This is a tremendous advantage to Tabor students in the college process.
