Enjoy a day out exploring two iconic destinations of the Huon Valley! Highlighted by experiencing the Tahune Forest and learn about the regeneration process occurring since the fires swept through. We will have a 1 hour guided walk to understand the full impact of the fires and how mother nature is reinvigorating herself. Enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch overlooking the river and take a walk on the Airwalk if you dare!! We then head deeper south to explore the artistry and gardens at Castle Phoenix – truly a sight to behold and a story to hear! Hastings Caves & Cockle Creek

Departing Hobart and driving south towards Hastings Cave State Reserve. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Wellington, the apple orchards, and cherry farms. Once at Hastings Caves you can choose to relax by the pool, paddle in the Thermal Springs or enjoy one of the many walks throughout the rainforest – maybe even sighting a Platypus! Lunch will be enjoyed by the pool in one of the BBQ huts. If you’re feeling adventurous maybe explore Newdegate Cave - The largest Dolomite cave in Australia. A guided tour which lasts approximately 1-hour can be booked as an additional tour. We will then continue southwards to Cockle Creek which sits on beautiful Recherche Bay at the edge of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and is the furthest point south that one can drive in Australia.
