Food stores You will find individual speciality farm and food stores in almost every small town and village in Kerry, from artisan bakeries to wholefood and organic stores, guaranteeing a uniquely local shopping experience.

The O’Sullivan family have owned and operated The Tankard Bar and Restaurant since 1976. Originally they sold beverage only but in 1982 expanded to offer their customers more choice when it came to local produce. The restaurant was very successful from the outside and today boasts an extensive Bar Food Menu and a mouth-watering a la carte Menu which customers can enjoy while taking in some of Kerry’s famous views of the Slieve Mish mountains. We produce high quality beers using water from our well and botanicals in our seasonal beers. The Dingle Distillery is an artisan company dedicated to the tradition of independent distilling in Ireland. They make a pure pot-stilled malt whiskey from the finest malted barley, then store it in casks to mature. You need patience to make a good whiskey so while they are waiting, the distillery makes an exceptionally pure vodka; distilled five times to no enhance its creamy and slighty sweet taste on the palate. Dingle Gin is an artisan gin flavoured and scented with Kerry botanicals which are foraged locally for a taste of the Kerry landscape. 40 • Kerry Food and Drink Experience

Element Outdoor Training and Adventure offer half day workshops in seaweed foraging and cooking. Learn all about the various types of edible seaweeds common on our shoreline, how to identify them and harvest them sustainably. Foraging takes place during a short walk on the spectacularly beautiful Smerwick harbour on the Dingle Peninsula.
