It’s been an exciting month for news from Ghana – we’re thrilled to see the first participants in our new Young Farmers Support Scheme, helping young people to beat the obstacles to becoming a successful cocoa farmer.

Twelve candidates have been chosen from 23 applicants to participate in the scheme. The successful 18- to 33-year-olds impressed the selectors with their entrepreneurial flair – most had already taken steps to improve their skills or find financial support – as well as their commitment to cocoa farming as a livelihood and not just a hobby... continued on page 8...
