The aim of this project was the renovation of the hotel common areas and guest rooms. The 3D models were rendered by Skema group. Most of the existing furniture was redesigned since we had limited budget. The inspiration for this project came from the fabric used in the circular chairs. The fabric was previously chosen by the owner. The existing counter was replaced by a new one covered with purple glass and specially designed to attend special need customers. Moreover, the counter received a new electric project to attend the demand of the existing computers and machines. 3d model by: Skema Group

The project was designed for a single male client. The client´s demand was to join the kitchen and living in a modern concept while creating a convenient place to hold gatherings and dinner parties. The kitchen wall was removed to keep the main spaces open and connected. A cement- based material covered the existing floor and wall tiles while the living wooden floor was preserved. The kitchen entrance was closed by a panel painted with chalkboard paint, providing a place for notes. All the carpentery work was custom designed specially for this project to fit the client`s personal style.

The task for this project was to redesign the external swimming pool area of this apartment matching the style of the newly remodeled house. A cement-based product was proposed to the pool walls due to a low budget advantage and easy application. In addition the existing natural rock waterfall was replaced with a new modern system. The external wall made of rocks was replaced by a ceramic material and a green wall was designed with an automatic irrigation system. The existing Pine tree was replaced by a Yucca to meet the new tropical modern design. The terrace design concept was based on the customer’s demand to create a new mood for the terrace without changing the swimming pool covering.

The aim of this project was to design a shop for a company of our choice and also to develop a brochure advertising the opening day. I choose the Brazilian sandal’s company Havaianas. The inspiration for the store theme and design comes from Rio de Janeiro’s famous beach Copacabana and the brazilian’s laid-back lifestyle. The drawing of the famous Copacabana sidewalk invites the customer to walk around the store while the wooden sign placed in the middle of the store helps the customer’s navigation. In the center, a circle with a floor texture resembling sand enhances the beach brazilian mood. The customer can try the sandals in the middle of the store where wooden circular seats are placed. I also developed a customized sale’s counter made in MDF with the brand’s logo on top of a colorful poster. The famous and popular Disney collection is displayed in front of a MDF with a Disney poster glued on top. The new products (rubber boots and shoes) are displayed in wooden colored boxes, while the sandals are displayed around the store by plastic hangers.

On the back of the store, the customer can create a personalized havaianas. By using the screen monitor, he can try matching colors and shapes for both straps and sandals. In this project I learned how to design a retail space for a specific brand while maintain the brand’s image and style. In addition, I developed my skills in graphic design by creating a brochure in a sandal shape.

BRAND ID PROJECT 2013 | VIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, TEKO | 1ST SEMESTER SKETCHUP | PHOTOSHOP | INDESIGN |
The aim of this project was to work in interdisciplinary teams and obtain insight into what design is with point of departure in an aesthetic, functional and commercial perspective, as well as decode and relate to a company’s image and values in product development. We developed a product for a brand of our choice (Nespresso) as well as a marketing strategy. We also designed and built a stand to display our final product. After an intensive research about the company’s identity, we decided to make an exclusive dress for Nespresso’s exclusive club clients. We divided the group in to two teams (dress manufacturing and stand construction). The dress manufacturing team was led by the fashion design student (Bregje C.) while I led the stand design and construction team. The concept for our stand was inspired from Nespresso’s store in which the company’s cups are displayed on the walls according to colors (flavors). Therefore we created boxes made of MDF with colorful circular gaps. We used the neutral color black as a base to our stand and forged the company’s logo in gold to enhance the brand’s identity.

VISUAL MERCHANDISING 2014 | VIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, TEKO | 2ND SEMESTER AUTOCAD | PHOTOSHOP | INDESIGN | POWERPOINT
The aim of this project was to design in three days, a window display and a store based on a brand of our choice. Me and my colleague decided to design our own brand called Satin, that sells women’s fashion clothing and accessories. The brand has a romantic image with pastels colors and flower prints and is target to young girls. We placed our POS (point-of-sales display) in our store on the opposite side of the cash desk and decided on the display concept. In addition, we designed a window display for the fall collection and which have the theme “Autumn”. In order to fit the brand identity and the collection theme, we used paper cranes and leaves made out of book pages as our props. Our mannequin and stools are organized in a triangular shape following the Fibonacci sequence (stools) and the golden section (mannequin) thus balancing the window proportions. Furthermore, we used thin sheets of tracing paper on the back wall to give texture and depth to our display.

WINDOW DISPLAY 2014 | VIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, TEKO | 2ND SEMESTER PHOTOSHOP | POWEPOINT
In this project we researched the DNA of the brand Bibi Chemnitz and developed a trend for the upcoming collection as well as a theme. Our trend for the label is Urbanature. Cultural clothes based on Danish street style get some influence from Greenland which gives the collection a natural touch. That is represented in the display window with mannequins wearing the current collection and a black tree illustration. In fashion it is getting more and more popular to mix design with comfort, that is why people are wearing more sporty clothes. We choose this name since the designer of the label was born in Nuuk, Greenland and have a deep connection to her homeland. The clothes clearly show the influence of Greenland while mixing it with the modern urban style. The theme we chose for Bibi Chemnitz’s collection of 2014 is Aurora Borealis (northern lights). It is based on the simple colors such as black, white and grey with bright colors popping out. Since the inspiration for our trend comes from nature and Greenland (Urbanature), the theme of Northern lights is a very good fit. In the display window there are triangles representing shapes of mountains filled with a picture of the Northern lights. We decided to choose this theme for this collection because the colors of the lights show the colors used in the current collection such as “klein blue” and mint.
