“September symphony at Tattersalls Ireland as strong trade creates records”
Aisling Crowe, Racing Post
The sale recorded 170 2yo winners in 2023, making it Europe’s leading sale for two-year-old winners. Among those winners were graduates succeeding at stakes level in Ireland, the UK, USA, UAE, France, Sweden and Italy. A sale is best determined by racecourse results, and the Tattersalls Ireland team approach the September Yearling Sale with confidence. We anticipate strong support from both vendors and purchasers, reflecting the rapid growth of this sale.
In 2023, the results on the racecourse were matched with positive key indicators. Turnover exceeded €12.5 million, while the clearance rate stood at 85%. The average of €30,995 was the sales second best, a new median record of €28,000 was recorded, while more than 60 yearlings sold for a minimum of €50,000. These figures were the result of a diverse and powerful buyers bench, which created sustained demand across all levels of the market.
We are appreciative of the continued work being done by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing to increase the appeal of this sale. The sale attracted purchasers from across Europe, and horses were bought to race in Ireland, Great Britain, Europe, and the Middle East. We look forward to renewing acquaintances with current clients, and forging new relationships with prospective clients.
When Tattersalls say that there is something for everyone at this sale, they really mean it, you know.
There is a raft of talented operators chasing the same bounty.
