Both sides of the tattoo world Grab a very large map. Europe, United States, Holland and California. The second issue of Tattoo Energy 2011covers both sides of the ocean. As for the Old Continent, we went to see Slick Nick (an apprentice of the famous Dutch tattooist Erroll) directly in his studio 25ToLife in Rotterdam where he works moving expertly between the Japanese style and traditional. And during our interview, Nick expressed his opinion about work ethics saying that a tattooist must always perform a careful quality control of his work. In the States, we met Adam Turk, the tattoo artist from Sausalito who works in his
private studio called Left Hand Black Tattoo but soon - or at least this is what he promised – he will open a real tattoo studio open to all. However, Adam is a great artist with a passion for dark atmospheres (check out his human faces, that little by little reveal the skull underneath!) that become tattoos with simple lines, clear shading and strong colors. But there is not only tattoo, we also decided to pay a tribute to the late Paul Gray (who passed away on May 24, 2010) by dedicating our "Portraits" section to Slipknot and we asked – as the anniversary of his death is approaching – if the

The release of 'The Here and Now', in fact, gave us the opportunity to chat with frontman Sam Carter, a guy from Brighton and a dear friend of Phil Kyle and the other guys of Magnus Opus Tattoo. As for "Tattoo Wave", get ready as usual for the interesting news of this past period thanks to the works of tattooists from the four corners of the globe. And last but not least, our interesting

Getting back to you, was the lettering Blink 182 your first tattoo? No, that came after the black flag that the great Phil Kyle designed on my hip. One night we were both drunk and at one point he says: "Why don’t you come to the studio with me? I’ll tattoo something...". I followed him and ever since, I never stopped! I have lots of tattoos here and there, a sleeve on my left arm and a lettering inside my lips: "Dino".
o Sam, do you know what brought you into the tattoo world for the first time? Well, more than a "motive", I would talk about a real "culprit" (laughs, author’s note)! His name is Travis Barker, the famous drummer of Blink 182. I remember that years ago I saw one of his photos and I was shocked by all the tattoos he had got during his life! I had to thank him in some way. So one day I got the Blink logo tattooed on my ankle...

Mmh, I like the orange octopus crushing the ship on my left arm. It reminds me of the beauty of the sea and travelling. Yes, I love traditional tattoos more than anything: sort of that vintage Sailor Jerry look? Even though I must admit that there are a few songs in this album such as 'An Open Letter To Myself' and 'Learn To Live' that are my all time favorites! A big thanks first of all to my consistency, and to the fortune of being in a band with other guys that share my ideas. And how can I forget Kurt Cobain? Peter Tägtgren (musician in Hypocrisy in Pain) for help. Compared to the previous Walpurgis Rites - Hexenwahn of 2009, he was able to “focus” more on the band’s sound. The result is a handful of great pieces such as In Blood Devour This Sanctity, Discipline Thorugh Punishment, Impaled Upon The Tongue Of Sathan and the mad Sado Messiah able to create a blasting, rocking atmosphere (the two strong points of Helmuth’s lyrics) that will make all fans happy. This is what happened to Live (authors of big hits in the “alternative” US market such as Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi): out went singer Ed Kowalczyk and in came the replacements such as guitarist Sean Hennesy and singer Kevin Martin coming from Candlebox. Just that the remaining three at that point (Chad Taylor, Patrick Dahlheimer and Chad Gracey) wisely decided to change name and today here are the new The Gracious Few able to move from Led Zeppelin (Appetite and Honest) to the ballads (Crying Time and What's Wrong) that rock the charts. Of course, the aura and the mysticism of the old Live are a different story but The Gracious Few is a solid Yankee rock album 100%. And believe me in such a situation it could have been worse...
It took some time – six long years – but finally the famous and irreplaceable Crowbar are back with their first album of new pieces since the time of the interesting Lifesblood For The Downtrodden of 2005. The reasons behind this long wait were the several commitments of the leader Kirk Windstein (a living legend of real metal!) who is both the guitarist of the incredible Down (along with the former Pantera Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown) but also the leader, with Jamey Jasta, of the much more aggressive Kingdom Of Sorrow. Crowbar of the superlative Sever The Wicked Hand, do what they know what to do best since the 90’s: heavy sludge-metal like in the best tradition of Saint Vitus and slow as in a procession of lost souls. And this with twelve amazing tracks, from the pounding sounds of Isolation (Desperation) to the ice-cold atmosphere of Symbiosis, is certainly one of the most intense albums of 2011.

Very few bands were able to represent the chaotic passage from the 90’s to the third millennium as Slipknot: violent, masked, extreme, choreographic, and even “working class” – if you want… - in their ideas of the band and its working rhythms. The band from Des Moines moved compact and united for a decade until in May 2010, it had to stop unexpectedly and rethink their plans for the future. That day in fact the bass player Paul Gray was found dead in a hotel room. And a bad light started to shine down on the band from Iowa ever since...

ay 24, 2010 was supposed to be a day like any other in the life of Slipknot, of metal and music in general. The famous masked band from Iowa, in fact, was still enjoying their well-deserved period of rest following their long world tour of 20082009 during which Corey Taylor and friends promoted 'All Hope Is Gone', a very mature and heterogeneous album, around the world. The band’s agenda was free: no concerts, the release of their double DVD '(sic)nesses' (with the entire concert held at the Download Festival) had been postponed to September

and only four Slipknot out of nine (the singer Corey Taylor with guitarist Jim Root, drummer Joey Jordinson and dj Sid Wilson) were working on the release of their solo projects: the albums Stone Sour, Murderdolls and DJ Starscream. Everything was quiet. But at 10:50 am a dramatic call reached 911. In room 431 of the hotel Towneplace Suites in Urbandale (not far from Des Moines) a person called Paul Dedrick Gray was in serious conditions. The news came as a shock to the other members of 'Knot: Paul Gray had been the bass player of the band since the beginning (1992) when he, "clown" Shawn Crahan, Joey Jordison and the then singer Anders Colsefini put together the project. Moreover: Paul played in all the albums released on Roadrunner ('Slipknot', 'Iowa', 'Vol.3 - The Subliminal Verses', the live album '9.0: Live' and 'All Hope Is Gone') and even on the self-produced CD 'Mate. Feed.Kill.Repeat' of '95 printed on 1000 copies only. Gray, basically contributed since the beginning to create the furious sound of the nine masked members and compared to the temporary trend of nu metal, he always preferred introducing Slipknot to the press as a band that didn’t want to skip a beat: they loved thrash, death, grindcore, electronic, melody, etc. Anything was good when the band locked itself in the studio to give shape to its experiments that then turned into great songs such as 'Spit It Out', 'Left Behind', 'The Blister Exists', 'Wait and Bleed' and 'Before I Forget'. But let’s go back to that day, 24 May: when the paramedics arrived, Gray was already dead. The autopsy will then reveal that the bass player died due to a heart attack following an overdose of morphine and Fentanyl. For Slipknot and their "Maggots" (their fans) it was an incred-

ible shock. Devastating. A press conference was organized during which the eight members, without masks, gave their condolences to their dear friend. Shawn Crahan’s was special: "Paul was the only one who kept us all focused on music. Constantly. There are always lots of distractions in a band, but he used to get really angry if he noticed that the intensity wasn’t the right one. We will miss him very much and the world will be a different place without him". Yes, let alone the world, and the band? Will Slipknot be able to overcome such a loss? Before Gray’s death, in fact, rumor’s had it that the “guys” were already working on six new tracks ('Dirge', 'Moth', 'In Reverse') and that the album - nice and heavy like the good old times... – would have been called 'Vol.5'. But now? Well, even though 'Knot will be touring the biggest music festivals in the Old Continent this summer, some say they will stay away from the recording studio for at least 2 years. "We will make the album sooner or later - says Jim Root, the number 4 – we owe it to our brother Paul and we know in our hearts that this is what he would have wanted, too". The massacre will probably continue...
The butterfly is one of the most ancient symbols of rebirth and change. Its biological transformation process from caterpillar, larva, chrysalis and butterfly is an amazing fact if considered under a modern science standpoint and so it is easy to understand what impact it had in popular culture and its symbolic traditions.

hat surprises most of the butterfly symbology is that is has acquired and continues to acquire two completely different meanings, one meaning that that is ephemeral and the meaning of something that lasts forever, or even of the spirit freed from matter or of the soul that reincarnates and returns to be matter. Just like the phoenix, the butterfly is without doubt a symbol of transformation but, unlike the phoenix, it is not a mythological being, it is constantly visible every day and in several numbers, which makes it even more surprising. The transformation process of the butterfly has always been considered by man as a metaphor for change – both personal or social – as well as the most evident and convincing example of the eternity of the soul and of its rebirth, after the death of the physical body. The fact that some species of butterfly pass their (brief) life without even eating but only by mating, created a mystical aura of sensuality around this animal and a

powerful link to regeneration, representing a cyclical sense of life in constant renewal. Again the symbolism is that of the real essence of the being freed from the enclosure of matter. No doubt the observation of the incredible qualities of butterflies pushed the ancient populations to consider them “psychopomp� animals, connectors between the world of the living and of the dead. The identification butterfly=soul has always been present in the old IndoEuropean and ancient Greek world, even the word psyche indicated both soul and butterfly. This symbolism is effectively represented in the famous myth of Cupid and Psyche, told by Apuleius (II sec. AD) in the Metamorphosis but certainly dates back to an earlier oral tradition, probably a North-African origin (area of origin of Apuleius). Very often Psyche is represented with butterfly

wings and the same attribute was presented by Hypnos, the Greek god of sleep. It was believed that dreaming of a butterfly
was a precise message sent from the spirits or gods, the need of an imminent change. Another very important symbolic value attributed by ancient European culture was that of icon of beauty. Psyche in fact is ostracized by goddess Venus who is jealous of its beauty and this myth can also be found in the Celtic-Irish tradition, where the goddess marries the god of the dead Mider and is transformed in a water puddle from the first wife, who was jealous of her. A caterpillar comes out of the puddle and it changes into a wonderful butterfly, and is immediately protected by the gods for its miracle powers. Still today in Scotland and Ireland a butterfly by the body of a deceased is considered as a particularly positive event, because people believe that this assures a place in paradise to the deceased. But the symbolism of the butterfly is not only Indo-European, actually its strong-

est iconography is in the Americas. The Aztecs believed that butterflies were the spirit of warriors who died in battle and returned to earth. They were sacred animals associated to the god of fire that in every representation wore an obsidian butterfly on the chest. Even the Sun was represented like the image of a Butterfly and the goddess that protected women who died giving birth was called Itzpapalotl ("butterfly with claws" or "obsidian butterfly"). Furthermore, the word used by the Aztecs to define the butterfly, that is papalotl, was extraordinarily similar to the Latin papilio (butterfly), a linguistic mystery. Still today, in Mexico it is very popular to paint a red butterfly on the backs of the deceased as a symbol to guide them to the afterlife, whereas in many areas of the South-West of the USA, among the native populations, the butterfly is considered like a real guardian angel and meeting one in the desert is a sure symbol of a safe return home. Navajo and Hopi tribes still today practice the “dance of the butterfly” as a prayer of rebirth during the most important ceremonies and often unmarried women of

these tribes would do their hair up so that it looked like the wings of a butterfly to show their condition of free women. Also Maya populations believed that Butterflies were the spirits of the deceased that returned to Earth to say goodbye to their loved ones. They used the icon of the butterfly as a symbol of the so-called “black sun” that passes through the underworlds during its night journey and that was closely linked to the idea of sacrifice, death and rebirth. Many African populations believed that the life of a butterfly was directly linked to that of man, where the initial stage of the larva represents childhood, the adult larva represents maturity, and the chrysalis is associated to old age and finally, the death of the person is the cocoon from which the soul departs with the shape of a butterfly. The Yoruba of Western Africa represent in the upper part of the club used during ceremonies a head with a butterfly, to pay tribute to the goddess of the afterlife Oya. In the Chinese culture, the figure of the butterfly is used as a desire for longevity: this association seems to derive from the fact that two characters with the same pronunciation (t'ie) mean both butterfly and old age. Also in this case, the symbolism of rebirth is widely present, and even finds a reference in a precise legend with a safe date. It is the legendary myth of Madam Wengu, or of the Bai Vergin, a noble woman who lived in the Kingdom of Nanzhao (729
AD -1253 AD) accused of betrayal by her jealous husband. To escape his threats, the woman and her lover killed themselves by jumping in the waters of a river and ever since it is believed that the souls of the two young lovers return every

year as a large group of butterflies and their presence is a sure sign of fertility. The most sensual aspect of the iconography of the butterfly is particularly felt in Japan where it represents the virgin woman (if represented alone) or the symbol of conjugal happiness if paired with another butterfly, often dancing. From the mists of time, in Japan, butterflies are placed on the female kimonos of single women as a wish to soon find a soul mate. In the Christian culture, the butterfly had several representations, often linked to the immortality of the soul as in Pagan traditions. Since the insect is so fragile that it can be injured by a drop of rain, the butterfly is a synonym of human fragileness, both moral and physical. Since its life is not long, it is also a symbol of short-lived nature and of a small physical existence. In many

Middle Age images of the garden of Eden, the soul of Adam is symbolized by a butterfly or drawn with the wings of a butterfly. In the Renaissance, in many paintings of the Blessed mother with baby Jesus, the presence of butterflies is important to symbolize the souls of the deceased that go to paradise. But sometimes the butterfly is used as a symbol of the opposite, as the angel of death that flies down to bring divine justice. In the Middle Ages, a group of Catholic extremists considered butterflies as animals of the devil, announcing the presence or arrival of a witch. It is very important that Joan of Arc (1412-1431) was accused of being a witch because it was said that when her flag, decorated with iris flowers blew in the wind, it was possible to see thousands of butterflies around it. Because what a butterfly represents can only be considered pure magic.

Well Nick, how did you approach the so-called “tattoo world” for the first time in your life? When I was around 14 my friend in school got tattooed and I didn’t liked it at all! haha! But when I was around 18, I saw Marcus Macheco’s work and I was amazed by it. It still took me 4 years to get my 1st tattoo though. I did some research of what I wanted and found the artist (Lal Hardy in London) to do it. Flew over there and went to the shop a day before my appointment to talk it over. When I got there he was tattooing Evan Seinfeld from Biohazard, which made the trip even more interesting. The next day I received my tattoo. The octopus was done in 3 hours. May you tell me about your job so far? Where did you start like tattoo artist? And which have been the major points of your career? To be honest....I started in my kitchen. But after a few tattoos I knew this wasn’t
the way to learn it. I stopped with it and the search for an apprenticeship started. Then 8 months later I got tattooed by Errol and asked him if he needed an apprentice. Not at that time, but he mentioned something about opening his own shop and that I had to pay him a visit once he was open. So I did. I couldn’t draw at all, but he said the following: “If you can put down a decent tattoo within a year, you can stay. If not, then you can get the fuck out of here!! I worked there for a good 7 years! The best part was all the artists I’ve been able to
work with, all the shops I did guest spots, opening my own shop, but the biggest one is meeting Luke Atkinson. He did my full back and legs and I learned so much from him. so,....a big thank you to you Luke!! Why a nickname like “Slick Nick”? Maybe I have too much imagination, but it reminds me of Earl Slick, David Bowie’s famous guitarist... Berlin convention, early 2000. Theo Jack gave me that name. I never used it until I started sending pictures to magazines and found out that there are more Nico’s (which is my real name) in the tattoo world. To make sure everybody would know which Nico I was, I started using the name ‘Slick Nick’ again. I saw the tattoo pictures that you sent me. I think Japanese and traditional are your major influences... Is it so or do you just like tattooing every style? I like the bold Japanese and American traditional style because it’s readable. I think it is important to read a tattoo also from a good distance. I enjoy doing flowers and ornamental stuff also. You’ll never see me doing hyper realism and portraits though. That’s not for me.

Where did you study the Japanese style? Thank god for good reference books and Crystal from Gomineko books. I’ve been in Japan only once. I met some tattooers and got tattooed by Asakusa Horiyasu, which was amazing. I’d love to go back soon to see more of this country. What kind of tattoo shop is 25ToLife Tattoo? Tell me everything about it... From the day I started, all by myself, I wanted it to be a full custom shop with several guest artists appearing every year. For the past 2 years Barbara (www.swingalingtattoo.com) from Antwerp has been working here every Wednesday and since Guen Douglas (www.guendouglas.com) moved to Holland in October 2009, she’s been working all other days in the shop. Everyone has their own style of tattooing, which makes it interesting for everyone. Some guests who worked in my shop where: Chriss Detmer, Electric Pick, Tony Derigo, Lionel Fahy, Kelu and Nick Caruso. Some guests I hope

Which is the real meaning of a name like 25ToLife? In the American prison system, 25 to life stands for when you get sentenced for life in prison. And because tattoos last a lifetime (when done by professionals!) I thought it was a good name for the shop.

Tell me about your technical approach when you start working on a brand new tattoo... I start with making an appointment for a consult with the customer and ask them to bring as many references as possible so I get a clear view of what is going on in their heads. We talk over the idea and I might make a rough sketch on them, so I know where to place it, how the body moves and what muscles there are. With this info I can start drawing. I like to have my drawings finished a month or so before the actual tattoo appointment so I can hang it near my workstation and have a look at it and if needed, make some adjustments. I like to be well prepared! Do you have a favorite place along the human skin to make a tattoo?

For example I know that you did a lot of big-pieces in your life.. Since I opened my shop, the pieces started to grow. but I still enjoy doing ‘one shot’ tattoos. As long as it’s a good and interesting idea/design, I’m down for it. I don’t really have a favorite place of skin though. Holland is, of course, a land of many freedoms. Do you think it is also the best place in the world for a job like yours? Tell me something more about the Rotterdam scene... Sorry to say, but I don’t think so. Holland is changing and not in a good way I think. People are getting more selfish, ego-centric and rude. The best place would be a place without scratchers! It is getting kinda crazy nowadays with all the people working out of their houses and all the bullshit suppliers selling

crap to everyone. something needs to be done, soon!!!! Some quality control would be good!! Which is your favorite soundtrack when you work? I have seen on your MySpace that the list of your favorite bands and artists is simply endless... I recently uploaded my total CD collection (13,000 songs) on my i-pod, which I have on shuffle mode all the time. And because I like a lot of different kinds of music it’s always a surprise what will come next. From metal to hiphop to jazz, to garage to noise to rock and roll to stoner to rhythm and blues to......etc. etc. Do you like working at conventions? On your website (www.25tolifetattoo.com), beyond Milan, there is only one booked in Brussels next October...Any other
appointments? To be honest, I’d rather work in my shop. But conventions are fun to meet up with old friends and people you know, and to come to new places and meet new people, who might end up as guest artists again. I’ll do Brussels for sure and I’ve been to Milan recently! I might do Montreal, Paris and London. But as soon as I know something more, the info will be on www.25tolifetattoos.com Which is the strangest place in the world you’ve made a tattoo? Hi Adam, is it true and correct to label you only like a “tattoo artist”... Do you agree with me? I disagree! I have been drawing since I was a kid and have always been interested in art my whole life. I was always getting in trouble in school because I cared more about my drawings than my studies!! I never formally studied art, but I have always had a passion for art! Currently, I paint in oil, acrylic, and watercolor as well as make mosaics and weld metal sculptures. All I ever really show is tattoo art I guess so that’s all anyone really knows me for. When did you discover tattoo art for the very first time? And which has been your path so far to become a professional tattoo-maker? My first memories of tattoos come from my uncle Darin who had an old “hot-stuff” devil on his forearm that he got when he was in the Army in the 70’s. It’s so funny because I totally recognize that design on old flash sheets that I’ve collected. Every time I see it I just imagine him in an old tattoo shop picking flash off the wall… it’s pretty awesome. That same uncle was the first to mention to me that I should be a tattoo artist and even had me drawing daggers and roses and spider webs when I was only 9 or 10 years old! Crazy to think that nearly 10 years

Right now, my studio is just a private one, even though I have the room for someone else… A full studio is already in the works and will be completed later this year.
later I would be in San Francisco pursuing an apprenticeship! May you describe to my readers the San Diego’s Left Hand Black Tattoo Studio? How many guys work with you? My studio is more like a museum of taxidermy and antiques then it is a tattoo studio, haha. Other than prints and paintings from fellow tattoo artists on the wall, there is very little that resembles a typical tattoo shop, and I like that. I don’t really feel inspired in tattoo shops that are all about tattoo flash and flames and all that. Antique and macabre things have always inspired me and I think my studio definitely reflects that.
That moniker - “Left Hand Black Tattoo” - reminds me of a very seminal Entombed album (1990’s “Left Hand Path”) and occult theories in general... It sounds also very “metal” to me! Or I am fully wrong? There’s definitely an occult reference and musical reference in the name. Back in the dark ages, people believed that the left side was evil because at the throne of God, Lucifer was seated to the left and Jesus to the right. So the term “Left Hand Path” which was coined by Anton LaVey (founder of the Satanic church) refers to following the path of Lucifer, or better yet your own path, instead of following the right hand path of worship. My studio, “Left Hand Black” is actually titled after a DANZIG song of the same name and refers to following your “left hand path” and challenging Heaven. It was very influential on my youth and ultimately, my art. Which is your relationship with music? Are you a musician? Music has always been a huge part of my life. I have been playing music since I was 5 years old and music has been very

influential on my life and artwork. I have titled many pieces of art after favorite songs of mine and usually get my ideas from songs and music. I’m in a band right now called Crushed On You and our website is www. crushedonyou.com Have you inked any rock stars so far or do you work with music labels about graphic, design and stuff like that? I’m very curious about this side of your career... I don’t know how many of them are actual rock stars but I have tattooed a lot of musicians in a lot of different bands over the years. I’ve also done graphic design work for a ton of clothing companies that deal with music like Atticus, Macbeth, To Die For, and Rockett. I also do a ton of band shirts over the years and still do them now when I get asked. Let’s talk about tattoos: do you think your style is heavily influenced by traditional, black & grey and oldschool in general? What do you think

about the Japanese? I really like Japanese work but I don’t really get asked to do it a lot so I don’t get to flex that part of my work very much. I’d like to spend some time focusing on Japanese but I have too much demand for my own art so I usually stick to doing that. I feel like my style is mainly influenced by traditional American tattoo designs. Simple line work and heavy shading with bold colors… that pretty much sums it up. In a lot of your works I have noticed that skulls seem to break out from the human faces that you drew... Can we talk about an Adam Turk “trademark”? I find something very romantic in death… It’s like, every living thing I see, I see it dying and the sorrows that follow. My art, at times, is a reminder that the grave is always waiting for us and that even the most beautiful things in the world will die or decay. It’s not like I wear black and listen to Sisters of Mercy all day or anything like that, I just really like death and the beauty that comes with it.
Do you have also a sunny side in your works? I think about some Halloween pumpkins or funny dinosaurs that I have seen on your portfolio... Oh yes, my work isn’t all skulls and devils, haha. I love to do silly and funny things as well! I watch a lot of cartoons and love illustration so I try to do goofy and silly tattoos any time I can! I think the “trademark” style you mentioned before started with these goofy little skeleton guys that I do from time to time and that really kind of transformed my art as it is now. I have a ton of new art coming out soon that will be just as dark and just as silly. May you tell my readers about your technical approach to a new tattoo? Wow that’s a good question… Generally, I approach a design by over drawing it as much as I can and then simplifying that into a simple line-work and try to apply it in sort of a quasi-traditional way that will hold up well over time. I’m not the most technical

inspiration for this work... My top five tattoo artists that inspire me are Simon Golygowski, Adam Hathorn, Tim Biedron, Lars Uwe, and George Campise. My top five artists in general are J.C. Leyendecker, Alphonse Mucha, Charles Dana Gibson, Virgil Finlay, and Bill Wray. A strange collection of artists I know, but I pull a little bit from each artist every time I create something.
tattooist out there so I usually line with tight 5’s and loose 7’s and do my shade and color with 9’s and 15’s. I am pretty gentle and try to do as little damage to the skin as possible so that it heals nice and stays looking good for as long as possible. Have you just booked some guestspots or conventions in USA or abroad for the spring/summer 2011 period? I have a ton of friends out in Pennsylvania, so you can usually find me doing guest spots at Mercury Tattoo with my buddy Scott Bramble or Steel City with my good friends John Bicknell and Elvis Lewis and will be getting over to my friend Todd Noble’s Black Cobra to work with him and my friend Chico sometime this year as well. As for my convention schedule, in June I might try and get into the Reykjavík show in Iceland. I’ve heard good things about that show and Iceland is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go! In September you can always find me at the Montreal Tattoo Expo followed by the wonderful London Tattoo Convention. I missed out on Milan this year but I will be back in there next year for sure. I would

If you weren’t a tattoo-artist or an artist in general... what would you be now? Well, I almost took a job as a hearse driver at a mortuary after high school and had an interest in being an undertaker. So I guess I would either be doing that or I’d be in the military like my dad, grandpa, and uncles were. I guess if I couldn’t do art, I’d either be fixing dead people or making dead people.
