I started writing articles in the year 2003 but did not pursue it beyond a certain point though I was contributing articles in Taxmann group of publications also. However, it was in January 2012 that Taxmann group encouraged me to write articles on a regular basis and moulded me. In fact, I learnt a lot with regard to presentation of facts sections and case laws after I started contributing articles on a regular basis from the beginning of 2012 though capital gain tax planning has been my niche area since I started focussing on the subject in early part of 2003 or so. When I was offered the task of revising, if I may be permitted to say so, the well written book of “Taxation of Capital Gains” I immediately accepted it though I was very well aware of difference between writing an article and revising a book. But when a person associates himself with an esteemed organization like Taxmann who had already done extensive research on the difficult but interesting topic of capital gains, the job undertaken does not appear to be very difficult though revision of any tax book in India requires lot of reading and updating on account of frequent amendments. I thank Taxmann group of publications for their excellent support whenever the need was felt by me.
