INTRODUCTION Town Brew is not your average, local brewery. With award-winning beers, expert craftsmen, and top notch bartenders, this micro-brewery offers its customers a best–in–class experience. We want customers for feel like they are a part of an exclusive club when they are enjoying our unique brews. Located on S. Higuera in a part of town which yields less foot traffic, Town Brew not only needs a draw for new customers, but it also needs a reason for them to keep coming back. To solve this issue, Town Brew will implement a membership program. This will further push the concept of a club-like experience. The overall design solution was executed by constructing a warm, welcoming feeling around the class and prestige that is the foundation of this establishment. This standards manual will expand on this design solution, exploring specific type and color decisions that convey this message as well as outline the uses and guidelines for the brand. Cheers, Taylor Becknell

PRIMARY MARK The primary mark combines two refined serif typefaces with a warm color scheme. Calluna is sturdy with enough contrast in line weight to suggest an essence of class. The subtle angle in the serifs points to Town Brew’s future rise in the brewing industry. The colors are reminiscent of signature Town Brew beers and offer a warmth that is welcoming to new and existing customers. When full-color printing and production is an option, the logotype must be shown as the primary mark to the left. Calluna Black must always be the primary logotype with the tagline set in Mrs. Eaves Roman All Petite Caps. Stout Brown is the appropriate color for the type in this full-color instance (consistent with the darkest color in the logo icon). Color pallete specifications can be found on page 22. Note: This primary mark is the only instance of the logotype acceptable. The tagline and icon may NOT be separated from the mark at any time.

PRIMARY MARK ALTERNATIVE COLORS For maximum legibility and contrast, the primary mark may be printed in either Malt Orange, Stout Brown, or Hazy Orange. Like the primary mark, these marks are never to be used on a dark background. The exception to this is on physical applications when applied to glass or if the mark must be laid over an image, the white variation should be used. See below.

11

12

CIRCULAR MARK The circular mark is to be used for physical applications such as coasters or stickers. This mark may not be used as a secondary logotype. Below are some acceptible color variations. The size shown is the minimum size for these single color variations. Note that they differ from the minimum sizes specified on page 15 for the primary mark and full-color circular mark.

MINIMUM SPACING Whenever the primary mark and circular mark is in use there should be an area of clear space on all sides of it to prevent it from being crowded by other design elements. The clear space for the any instance of the primary mark should be equal to or greater than the cap height of the ‘T’ in the mark.

MINIMUM SIZES Both the primary and circular marks should never be scaled down to a width of less than 1 inch.

COLOR PALETTE The colors in the primary color palette were inspired by the inviting gradient of a glass of beer. Each are found in the Primary Mark. STOUT BROWN is to be used for body text and headers. HAZY ORANGE is to be used for call-to-action elements. BARLEY TAN is to be used for any accenting or background coloring.

GRAPHIC ELEMENTS The hop leaf may be used where a small element is needed. The icon pattern may be used to decorate applications. This can be used as a complete abstract pattern (contained on all sides by a shape) or as a more exressive pattern, revealing the ends of some leaves. See Envelope on page 36 and Business Cards on page 33 to compare these two uses. These must always be set to 80% opacity to avoid overpowering surrounding elements.
