The warning comes after it was revealed new homes being built in east Oxford would cost nearly 50 per cent of the city average. Oxford city council’s Green group leader Cllr David Thomas has said
the high prices of homes being built on former council land at Barton Park – where a three-bedroom house will cost nearly £600,000 – would ‘spread misery and despair’ across the city. The figure for a three-bedroom
home is nearly 50 per cent higher than the overall city average of £420,000, with Oxford being ranked in February as the least affordable place to live in the UK by Lloyds Bank. Housebuilders Hill have released
