the petition, which was handed in on August 8, contained more than 1,500 signatures from local residents, a figure which now stands at over 2,000.
Councillors will make a decision on October 24 and Ann Ducker, leader of SODC, confi rmed that it is the fi rst petition to trigger a debate at the district council. “It certainly is something that I’ve never had here,” Cllr Ducker said. • Continued on page three
