TRIBUTES have been flooding in for former Mayor of Didcot Terry Joslin who died suddenly last Sunday morning. Mr Joslin served Didcot as a town, district and county councillor and as Mayor between 20002001 but passed away at the age of 76 at the Churchill Hospital. He leaves behind his wife Joan, four children, 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Local politicians who worked with and alongside Mr Joslin have since paid their tributes. Town, district and county councillor Neville Harris worked alongside Mr Joslin for 12 years. He said: “Terry was a man that loved Didcot and was very hardworking in trying to achieve what he believed was right for the town. “He was fearless in what he said even when he was courting unpopularity. If he believed in it he would say it. “But above all he was a wonderful family man and very devoted

to his wife, his children and his extended family.” Mr Joslin was also chairman of Didcot Twinning Association and attended the recent trip to Meylan. Current chairman and town councillor Phil Hayward said: “Terry, although we had quite a difference in the political sphere, was a good friend and a superb community politician. “He worked hard for his community and certainly the twinning association was his big baby. “As its chairman he was really keen and was thought of very highly in both the two towns we are twinned with besides the Oxfordshire community. “Didcot will miss this super man.” Town council leader Margaret Davies added: “Terry always looked at the absolute detail of everything and spent hours on researching into the background of what he was talking about. “It reflected how much he cared about Didcot.”
