Inspiration for Book

One colour page inspiration

First idea - Vintage Fonts First concept for my book was to focus on vintage typefaces and how they are now becoming popular again and used in typography today. This concept when flop fast as I didn’t find much information.

Second Idea - Time-line

The second concept was similar with older typefaces but the focus was on the time-line of these typefaces. This idea also didn’t happen because I the information I found was inconsistent and unreliable.

Book concept idea

I chose Type Classifications as my concept because I couldn’t find enough information on the previous concepts. Also while search for content on vintage type many typefaces with different classifications popped up and gave me the idea of creating a book about the different style of type. This extended into explaining how they are different and what they are used for.

Paragraph info style was non-hyphened

Master A is blank with just the margins. Master B is the 8x10 grid layout. Master C is the liquid 8x10 layout with added grids for content info

Paragraph style is the exact same as paragraph info, created this style to experiment with the effects however didnt end up changing it

First Colour Scheme

Second Colour Scheme

The first colour scheme looked plain and dull with faded out pastel colours. The second and chosen colour scheme was the same colour foundation but a more vibrant tone that stands out more and compliments great with the typeface examples that are black and red.

CHANGE I would change some of my content information so there was more detail
