ENGAGE THE WORLD

REACH One Day Celebration February 26 | 9 & 10:30 am

REACH Trip Applications Due March 1 | Pick up a brochure in the Welcome Center or View at taylorsfbc.org/reach

Dear Friends: Whenever we travel we have to be ready to make course adjustments. Maybe the weather has delayed your flight and you’ve missed a connection. Now you have to make adjustments to get to your destination. Maybe the accident on the interstate has backed up traffic for miles. Now you have to look for country roads that perhaps won’t let you travel as fast, but will move you past the traffic jam and get you to your destination. As we walk through the gospel of Luke in our sermon series, “The Kingdom Way,” I pray we’re all ready to make kingdom course adjustments in our lives and in our church. When we watch Jesus act and hear Him teach through His Word, we realize the current path we’re on might not get us to our destination which is a life and church that resembles Jesus and makes disciples. I pray we will go beyond just learning about Jesus on Sunday mornings. I pray we will encounter Him every week in Expectant Worship and make the kingdom course adjustments of confession, submission and obedience that get us to where He wants us to be. I look forward to following Jesus with you in the weeks ahead.

Paul Jimenez, Pastor

College REACH Trip to Indianapolis In January, twenty people from the college ministry traveled to Indianapolis to partner with Living Faith Church, a two-year-old SBC church plant. Out of the last twelve church plants in the area, there is only one of three that has made it past a year in existence. Braving sub-freezing temperatures, we ministered in a variety of ways whether it be door to door evangelism, homeless ministry, and even encouraging the staff at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis, a 30,000 student university. The Sunday after we left, the church had twelve first time guests and two packed worship services. "I had an incredible time on the Loft's Reach Trip! Meeting the church planters and partnering with them in mission was a blessing. I am excited to see God glorified in and through Living Faith Church. Also, I am excited to see what God will continue to do through Living Faith Church in the community of Indianapolis.” - Grant, Senior “I was really glad to play a part in spreading the gospel in Indianapolis through promoting the local church. I am also thrilled that God gave us the opportunity to be His hands and feet by giving the gifts of food and a kind word to those we met, especially those in need.” - Nathan, Senior “If someone asked me what my favorite part of break was I would say, hands down, the Loft trip to Indy. I loved seeing how Living Faith Church bathed everything in prayer and taught us to be flexible to the Spirit's leading. I also loved partnering with the church members who were around our age to get a feel for the local community. It was awesome to be a part of what God is doing in Indy.” - Meg, Junior
