REACH One Day Celebration January 8, 10:30 am
Dear Friends: Follow and Fish. It sounds like a promotion for a six-week fishing class at Cabella’s or an advertisement to charter an Atlantic Fishing expedition on your next summer vacation, doesn’t it? But it’s the title of an article I recently read by a pastor on disciple-making. I loved the simplicity of what he wrote but most of all what Jesus asked His followers to do: “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men” (Mark 1:17). At Taylors, beginning in January, we’ll watch and walk with Jesus as He models for us what it means to make disciples. During our worship times, we’ll unpack the gospel of Luke in a new sermon series as Jesus calls disciples to ultimately make more disciples before He leaves. In alignment with our Sunday morning times, our new Wednesday evening schedule will be a place to equip believers with an emphasis on two main values: multiplying disciple-makers and reaching the unreached (following and fishing). What you’ll find seasoning the events and opportunities outlined in this newsletter are these same values that undergird our mission. So whatever generation or family stage or spiritual season you’re in, Jesus’ call has never changed and we extend that call to you. Come join us, engage in the body of Christ here at Taylors, and together we’ll “Follow and Fish” for the glory of God, the strengthening of the body, and the advancement of Christ’s kingdom. Much grace to you this new year!

Growing Up How to Be a Disciple Who Makes Disciples by Robbie Gallaty Led by Paul Jimenez | Room: B232/233
If you are serious about being a disciple of Jesus Christ, a discipleship group can help you achieve that goal. Jesus established this model for us by forming and leading the first discipleship group—and it worked. The men who emerged from that group took the gospel to the world and ultimately laid down their lives for Christ. Discipleship groups can create an atmosphere for fellowship, encouragement, and accountability—building an environment where God can work. This guide offers a manual for making disciples, addressing the what, why, where, and how of discipleship. D-Groups, as Gallaty, calls them, can teach you and others how to grow your relationship with God, how to defend your faith, and how to guide others in their relationships with God.

ENGAGE THE WORLD
Conversational Evangelism Led by Jeremy Thompson | Room: The Loft
Do you want to share the gospel but find it intimidating and awkward? This course is just for you! Join us to learn about a simple, but effective way to proclaim the gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ among your neighbors, within your community, and to the ends of the earth. We are commissioned as followers of Jesus to go and make disciples of all peoples. In this course you will be given step-by-step instructions including how to start a conversation, move to spiritual discussion, and ultimately to proclaiming the gospel and call them to follow. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

As a whole I felt there was an overwhelming

...to engage in His work this year, we felt His prompting to go to the land of the NEMO people. As our team of six formed and we began to prepare for the mission, we adopted Esther 4:14b, “…for such a time as this” as our banner in being faithful so we will not lose this time to tell the spiritually lost about Jesus. NEMO is unlike any mission with which we have ever been involved. Other than the four workers on site, there are no known believers among them. The population is approximately the size of Greenville and for those four workers, there is no local evangelical church body…no one to give them daily encouragement, fellowship and support, nor opportunity to worship. Wow! I was overwhelmed with that realization, especially knowing how much we depend on the ministering outreach of Taylors FBC in our lives. Try and imagine the void of not having it. Since returning home we have been challenged not only to continue to pray for that one among the NEMO people group to come to know Jesus as Savior, but also for the team there to be encouraged by our support, to be strong through God’s power and to stay the course, knowing one day there will be a NEMO believer (s) to bow at the feet of Jesus, Revelation 5:9, 10 says “… with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God!” — Keith & Lin Cunningham
I was impacted by the way this family of missionaries
...support each other with their love for the NEMO people. Their need for home church support to pray and go on mission to encourage and share with them is enormous. Our prayers for NEMO are they hear the Good Word, and new members come to HIM. Great things are yet to come for NEMO. Thanks to Taylors FBC for your support and prayer. — Larry Parker
We could not have asked for a better team
... or outcome for the mission. The main objective for us is that when we have groups here, our ability to share increases, not decreases and that is exactly what happened. We were able to share more in that week with the group here than we would have been able to otherwise. It is also very affirming for us that people of all ages and backgrounds come. There is a big need for the people here to see that believers are not limited to people who look like us or have our same kind of background. It helps them to see that they do not have to fit into a specific mold in order to become a follower. For us it was also encouraging to hear Taylors FBC’s heart and be able to visit and share life with them during that week. There is not a large number of fellow workers here, so to have some great one-on-one time and encouragement like we did with y'all was really good for us and for the girls. Those trips are very special to us and have large impact, not only on the locals, but us as well. — Missionaries J & J TAYLORSFBC.ORG | 7

Reaching the UNREACHED REACH One Day Celebration
JANUARY 8 | 10:30 AM | FEATURING VANCE PITMAN Vance responded to God’s call to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2000, as a church plant from First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia. With a passion for God’s kingdom, he had a vision to launch a church focused on joining in God’s activity locally and globally, thus Hope Church was born in the fall of 2001. From a small group of eighteen adults in a living room, Hope’s fellowship has grown to over 3000 people in small groups desiring to connect people to live the life of a Jesus follower. Vance has led Hope to understand that what God is doing is bigger than one church. Since its launch in 2001, Hope Church has sent hundreds out of their fellowship on mission, invested millions of dollars in God’s global activity, and has commissioned more than thirty churches in the Western United States. Vance resides in Henderson, Nevada with his wife Kristie. They have two daughters, two sons, and a son-in-law. Learn more about Vance and Hope Church at hopechurchonline.com
