Dear Church Family, I've so much enjoyed preaching the Vision and Values sermon series. Every week I've been renewed in my passion for Jesus' mission and how it is to be carried out through the values of our church. It has given direction and a biblically-principled framework to see the vision accomplished. What’s next? 1. Launch new groups and strengthen existing ones. Groups could range from new Life Groups on Sunday mornings or be comprised of people who serve on Sunday mornings and meet other days of the week, or smaller groups that emerge from existing communities and meet throughout the week. If our mission is to equip believers, then the value of innovative faith propels us to create environments where people can be discipled. Also, these new environments can create ways for people not currently serving to find a place to do so. 2. Multiply disciple-makers. To see groups develop, we will invite people from their Life Groups and other community groups to walk with men and women in smaller and more accountable relationships. 3. Connect people to community. Many have lost connection with a group who walks with them as they grow in Christ or serve. We will seek to connect people with a community that is centered on the Word, cares for its members, and serves the body of Christ. We want to stop the revolving door of people who get lost in busy calendars and attend church without fully engaging the church. Our commitment to Life Groups has never been stronger. They will continue to be the anchor of our Sunday morning equipping time. Yet some communities can be created or reshaped to meet at different hours and on different days in order to grow and serve people in innovative ways. 4. Teach people to fish. We desire for people to engage with the Word of God and be able to grow through their own personal study throughout the week, not just be fed biblical content on Sundays and Wednesdays on campus. Then, they'll be better equipped to apply it, train others, and see their own lives transformed by the Word and the Spirit while seeing others develop a love for the Word. 5. Reach lost people. We are not mature or fully-devoted followers of Jesus if we are content to find biblical community and/or increase biblical knowledge without REACHING toward lost people. How we train and shape our communities and groups to pray for and engage lost people around us is critical. Will you join in by praying for us as these goals develop and take shape? I hope you have a great summer!

Looking for Lovely by Annie Downs As Christians, we are not promised lives of ease. Often it takes just a small moment of beauty to regain hope and continue on when life is chaotic and unpredictable. Only when we learn to spot the lovely in the midst of hardship can we experience the transcendent peace of God that keeps us persevering when we want to give up. In this 7-session Bible study, Annie Downs examines the ordinary people of the Bible – fishermen, gardeners, women, soldiers – to reveal the moments they found beauty in the darkest circumstances and hope in God’s timing. Because they trusted in this: He makes all things beautiful in His time. Mondays, 6:30-8 pm Begins June 20 | Room: B127
Gideon by Priscilla Shirer Do you ever feel insufficient? Could it be that your weaknesses are the keys that unlock God’s strength? Through a look at the life of Gideon, you can discover that instead of ignoring, neglecting or trying to escape your weaknesses, you can see them as gifts given specifically and strategically by God to unlock the door of God’s strength. Their Joy Spilled Over Into Our Hearts! Over spring break REACH Ministry partner, Refuge Sports, and Taylors Rec Center hosted a night of worship, testimonies and stories with the New Start Karenni Choir from Winston Salem, NC. Most of the young choir members from Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), had spent their entire lives within a barbed wire refugee camp in Thailand with little or no opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through God’s mercy they were placed by World Relief in Winston Salem and found themselves under the care of Tim and Jody Cross, NAMB missionaries to refugees. Under Tim and Jody many of the Karenni young people became followers of Jesus and developed the New Start Karenni Choir. The New Start Karenni Choir travels every year on school breaks to Burmese refugee communities all across the United States. As God has moved among the Karenni people in Winston Salem, He is now beginning to move here in our city. Taylors First Baptist Church has a unique opportunity. God is bringing refugees to Greenville from places we cannot go. Taylors FBC has the opportunity to partner with Refuge Sports, North American Mission Board, and World Relief to provide assistance to refugees moving into our area. We will be developing Good Neighbor Teams and helping in areas like English as a Second Language, with the goal of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing a church planted. If you are interested in engaging the unreached, you can contact Mike and Julie Lee at http://www.refugesports.org/contact-us/. Will you cross the street to REACH the nations? 8 | TAYLORSFBC.ORG
Reaching out to legally resettled refugees in the USA through sports, ESL, tutoring, after school programs, GED classes, and community outreach. God is literally bringing the nations to our community from places where we cannot go. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him‌ Acts 17:26-27

REACH Trip Regeneration Student Choir June 18-25
As we go we ask that you pray: • for our 82 team members
“So why Washington, D.C.?” I can’t tell you how many times I have been asked that question over the past several months. Most often my response has been, “because of God’s leading in Kevin’s heart.” When planning a Regeneration Student Choir REACH Trip we look for an area where we can minister through churches and faith based organizations and where there are opportunities for us to share our music. Six months after the initial decision was made to go to our nation’s capital, I see more clearly why God is leading us there. Washington, D.C. is considered one of the most globally diverse cities in the world. People from across the world live, work, study and represent their home countries in America’s capital city. D.C. consistently ranks in the top 10 of cities having the highest population of homelessness. In this city of over 6,000,000 people, almost 60% claim no religious affiliation. One of our Send City missionaries shared, “Our churches are dying faster than they’re being planted.” So, we go. — Diann Greer, Student Music Coordinator
• for travel safety and good health • for opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus as we engage in conversation when singing • as we sing and serve the homeless at Washington’s Central Union Mission and the Helping Up Mission in Baltimore, MD • for God to stir in the hearts of our students to live a life on mission and to consider a future in vocational missions • as we sing at Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA; the Veterans’ Hospital in Hampton, VA; the Lincoln Memorial and WWII Memorial; Washington National Cathedral and the Armed Forces Retirement Home

Easter eggs dropping from a helicopter created a unique opportunity for the new Encounter Church to engage their community of Dedham. Using the downtown park on Saturday before Easter, families gathered to enjoy rides, entertainment and the main event, the Egg Drop. Laughter abounded. Encounter Church consistently looks for ways to speak to the hearts of the citizens of Dedham and to continue to establish the church as a part of the community. Through the planning process, set up and the day of, opportunities to meet and engage folks plus interact with community leaders as never before occurred. Real relationships have been formed. The response was beyond expectations. The takeaway for our team: God is always faithful as He loves the people of Dedham, our church planter families, and our team. God is at work and it is so exciting!

Any-3: Training Makes The Difference Previous trips to NEMO meant driving many miles on desert roads to survey villages to determine exactly where the NEMO people lived. There were few opportunities to share personally. This trip we were able to primarily focus on sharing with people in the city where many NEMO live. We had all had training in sharing the Good News in a new way called Any-3. On this trip the gospel was shared personally with more than twenty men and women. The seed was sown; now we wait for the Lord to produce the harvest! Knowing how to move the conversation into sharing the Good News in a natural, non-confrontational way was invaluable! Any-3 is a simple, effective tool that every mission team can use.
