Dear Church Family, The gospel reaching in. The gospel reaching out. These two statements summarize Life Transformation Day on Sunday morning, October 15. This special worship service will be dedicated to the celebration of God's work in transforming lives, a reflection of a faithful and fruitful life produced by the Word of God and the Spirit of God. We'll celebrate the gospel transforming people on the inside of their hearts through believer's baptism throughout the service. Then, we'll hear from members who have answered God's call to reach the unreached with the gospel as we unveil our 2018 REACH trips. We will also collect an offering so that every member can receive 50% off their REACH trip. It's a celebration and commitment to the gospel you will not want to miss. Be praying and come ready on this special day!

“We’re living during unprecedented times when two major storms have made landfall in the United States within just a few days of one another. The needs are great, and resources are stretched. The impact of one storm alone is enough to place a demand on any relief organization; now there is a second storm that requires our attention.” “This is what we do, and with your help, we’ll be assisting our neighbors for months to come. You may choose to provide aid for people impacted by Harvey or Irma, or you may provide a donation that allows us to meet the greatest need.” - NAMB 100% of your donation goes directly to the field for relief. Here’s how you can give: • Give online or volunteer: https://missionaries.namb.net/projects • Mail your donation to NAMB Disaster Relief, P.O. Box 116543, Atlanta, GA 30368-6543. In September, Taylors First Baptist Church sent a team of eleven to Boston to help Encounter Church volunteer at the Annual Dedham Day and Westwood Day! This has been an exciting year for Encounter Church. This church was started by seven families from Taylors FBC who picked up and moved to Boston in hopes of planting a church and spreading the gospel throughout this lost city. For the past two years, the church has been meeting in the auditorium of a local middle school, but this summer they acquired and renovated a permanent space! The new location is in Westwood, just a couple miles from the previous location in Dedham, Massachusetts. Since the launch in the new location, Encounter Church has seen up to 187 in attendance, that’s 30% growth over the past year! Our team in September helped the church finish some renovations, prayer walk, encourage the core planting families during a sweet night of fellowship, and volunteered at two major events. In fact, there were several first-time guests from Westwood Day at the church the following Sunday. Please join us in prayer for Encounter Church as they continue to spread the gospel in their new home of Westwood. Ask the Father to make ways for Encounter Church families to connect with this community and to send His Holy Spirit to awaken them to their need for Christ. “We saw God's faithfulness in the growth and progress of Encounter Church. We witnessed renewed energy and excitement among both the pastors and the local Taylors family team! Seeds were planted through showing God's love by providing Christian service activities as volunteers at two local town festivals in Westwood and Dedham.” – Wiley Johnson, Boston REACH Team Member

We are bound to meet difficult people. They may not make choices we like or think the way we do. Like porcupines, they are prickly, and like sandpaper they are rough. On the other hand, sometimes, we can be that difficult person. As women of influence, we will explore this topic and look at living with one another authentically in our quest to reflect the mind and heart of God. Please register at www.taylorsfbc.org/women. Exciting things are happening in the Elementary halls of Taylors Children! Following our mission to ENCOUNTER God, the staff and volunteers have officially kicked off our 1st-5th grade large group KidsWorship experience during the 10:30 am service for the new school year. What does that look like? • Crew — small groups led by loving leaders with a heart to disciple kids. Our Crews have time at the beginning and end to huddle up, have meaningful discussions, share their prayer requests, and connect with their peers. • Corporate Worship — our goal is to engage children in true, genuine worship in a way that is age-appropriate and exciting. Our vision is to model and teach what our church values in corporate worship. We pray and learn key Scripture passages, collect offering and hear solid Bible teaching. We prayerfully choose songs that speak truth and are lots of fun to sing! We have a blast with silly skits, object lessons, and interactive games. If passing by you just might catch a leader dressed as a Bible character or superhero! There is nothing like seeing a child raise their hands and close their eyes during a worship song, or watching a child deep in thought while learning a truth from the Bible in an object lesson. One of the things the Lord is teaching me through KidsWorship is that He is at work in the hearts of Taylors Children. There are many opportunities to serve in KidsWorship. Will you pray about joining us? It really takes a lot of people to pour God’s love into our children. We are looking for members who are passionate about teaching our youngest generation what true worship is and what it means to ENCOUNTER God. We are excited to welcome volunteers with a variety of gifting. The following roles are available, but not limited to: • Musical Worship Leader/ Team — we currently use recorded music, but would love to incorporate a live worship band! • Story Teller / Teacher • Drama (Skits, Puppet Shows) • Small Group “Crew” Leader • Computer / Technical Katie Griggs, Interim Coordinator of Children's Programs
