Romans 15:4-6 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Dear Church Family, When I stepped into the pulpit on the morning of January 7, I carried with me a vision for the new year that was unlike the start of previous years. It was a picture of being Together around the Word of God and in our worship services in 2018. This change began as our ministerial team sought counsel and felt moved by the Holy Spirit in the fall of 2017 and ultimately based in the Scriptures of Romans 15:4-6: “ For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

At this writing, God is simply doing what only He can do in you as you faithfully encounter Him through the Scriptures in our reading plan. Whether as married couples or with the kids, or in a Life Group, D-Groups, or simply in our times alone with God regularly, we're seeing Him move. From the pulpit, I sense our times on Sunday morning have been enriched because God is working through His Word. What a joy these last few weeks have been! I encourage you to stay committed, begin, begin again or catch up as we continue to walk through the Word — it's never, ever too late to join us.
together
And just as God is working through our body together in the Word, I'm praying expectantly and urgently that He will do what only He can do in our new worship services beginning Easter Sunday as we move to two identical worship services. Thank you to our Life Groups that have been graciously flexible during this transition. All of this points us towards experiencing God's vision for His church in Romans 15:4-6… a gathering of Jesus followers who are transformed, unified, and used for the glory of God by the way they depend upon the Word and sacrifice their preferences in order to live as a family of faith . I pray Taylors finds endurance, encouragement and worship in the coming days and the result is revival as we gather on Sundays so that the gospel reaches beyond us throughout the week.
together
I ask you to pray with me that God will work all things together for the good of the family at Taylors and for the glory of God. Much love and grace to you this spring.
Pastor Paul Jimenez
The Easter season brings a lot of questions to the minds of unchurched people. What is this holiday all about, why is it important to so many, and why is the store filled with all this candy and “PEEPS?” You can be His messenger of hope this Easter. Invite your “PEEPS” to church Easter Sunday and watch how God reveals His plan for all man through the risen Christ, celebrated on Easter Sunday!

Beginning Sunday, April 1, the worship format at Taylors FBC will be changing as we come for a singular "Taylors Worship" in both the 9 and 10:30 am hours. Since the beginning of the Contemporary service in 2003, and the Modern service in 2010, we have offered multiple worship styles. But change is coming, and it is to be celebrated! More and more churches are making similar moves to bring their congregations for their weekly worship experience. From churches like First Baptist, Melbourne, Florida, to Carmel Baptist in the Charlotte area, and many more, the move has brought unity and growth.
together
Already the two Sunday morning choirs are coming together to form the "Worship Choir.” We will have one choir for the first time in fifteen years, with rehearsals beginning on March 7, 6:30-7:45 pm. It is a great time to join us! All of the groups that currently lead worship, including bands, orchestra, Worship Choir, Legacy Choir, Regeneration Student Choir, and Children's Choirs, will have the opportunity to lead. The services may look different each week, but the focus of worship will remain: a holy ENCOUNTER with the Living God — a response to His greatness and goodness. While these changes may take some getting used to, I challenge you to approach the change with a sense of openness — an open heart to new things, and to one another. Bring an open ear to experience worship that blesses and gives voice to others in our faith family, even if a musical style is a little outside your comfort zone. Focus on Jesus. Focus on the lyrics of the songs rather than a style or instrumentation. And most of all, SING! We have a singing faith, so grab every opportunity to enjoy the familiar and learn the new and different, and give praise to our God….

Jesus tells us there is great power in our prayers when we pray together with other believers.
From the very beginning of the early church, we see the believers “all joined together constantly in prayer” (Acts 1:14). Throughout the book of Acts we read vivid stories of how these prayers impacted the ministry of the disciples, leading to “many wonders and miraculous signs” and to “adding to their number daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2: 42-47). What would happen in our church, our community, if the people of Taylors FBC joined together constantly in prayer?
Intercessory Prayer Room Healing Prayer Ministry Prayer for the Nation David Nelson, Coordinator
Dee Hopkins, Coordinator
Pastor Jim Henry says, "No believer's spiritual life will ever rise above one's level of his or her prayer life." The Intercessory Prayer Room was created to provide a quiet place for intercessors to pray for urgent requests, long-term needs, church and staff, missionaries and government leaders. These volunteers also give thanks for praise reports of answered prayer. The Prayer Room includes a 24-hour prayer line (864-292-8864) where people can call in their prayer request for our intercessors.
“Our vision for this ministry is that it be an extension of the heart and ministry of Jesus to hurting people. Jesus said the kingdom of God is within us. Our hope is that we will learn more and more how to release the kingdom in everyday life - that His Kingdom will come, in and through us. Everyone has needs - be they physical, emotional, or spiritual. We are preparing to minister to the body of Christ as He has said in His Word that we would - yielded to the Holy Spirit and listening for His voice. It is our hope that this ministry will be a place where people will feel safe to ask for prayer in person and see God move to heal, restore, encourage, and set free.” - Dee Hopkins
In order to cover the day in prayer, additional intercessors are needed. “In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” Psalm 5:3

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:15-16

Faith, Family, and Culture
Bill Kirby, Coordinator What do God’s people do when the world around them spins out of control and evil seems to overcome good? Many retreat into a safe place with other believers beside them and isolate to protect themselves and their children. Some turn their heads and look the other way, preferring to stay in their comfortable world living the American dream. But throughout history, we find stories of men and women who courageously sought the Lord and fought for our country, for justice, for revival, for protection, for victory. Let’s join our hearts, minds, and voices in prayer and fight for our country, for the hearts of our children and grandchildren. Look for directed prayers for our nation in our prayer guides, Midweek Update, and website. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms… And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6: 10-12, 18

He is an avid student of history and culture in America and is deeply concerned for our country today.
NIGHT OF WORSHIP: Render Worship Choir and Orchestra with the Regeneration Student Choir
Sunday, April 15 | 6 pm | Worship Center Webster defines the word “render” this way: to provide or give; to hand over. When Jesus was asked “Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” He responded, the things that are Caesar’s should be rendered to him, and the things that are God’s should be rendered to God. As Americans, we typically pay taxes on April 15. As believers, we will come together to worship on April 15 and consider the question posed by the psalmist...
What shall I render to God for all His benefits to me? Psalm 116:12

A Grief Support Testimony
“After the loss of my beloved husband in May, I was blessed to be a part of the Grief Support Group for eight weeks in October and November of 2017. This group is a wonderful and caring ministry to those who have lost a spouse and have started the long and painful journey of grief. Through the leadership of four dedicated and loving volunteers who also have walked this difficult road, it offered a time of healing and a guide to help navigate the days ahead. Grief is personal and we were each given the time to share our fears, concerns, and many tears in a safe and loving place. Special guests each week provided encouragement, answered questions, and provided expert guidance for the pitfalls that may lay ahead. Most importantly, we were reminded to rest in the loving arms of our Savior. He alone is our strength, and He is faithful to walk with us each step of our journey. I will always be grateful that our church provides this ministry and for the friends who continue to support and love me. If you know someone who has faced a recent loss of a spouse, please encourage them to join the Grief Support Group that begins in March. They will be blessed and encouraged.” - Barbara Lawton TAYLORSFBC.ORG | 7
Foster Care Awareness THERE IS A NEED
WE ARE CALLED TO MEET THE NEED
MANY ARE RESPONDING, WILL YOU?
• There are approximately 450 foster children in Greenville County and only 150 foster homes.
• God is the great protector and loving Father of all children living as orphans.
• Pray and ask the Lord to reveal your part and to provide more foster families in the Upstate.
• Many children coming into foster care in the upstate are placed in other parts of the state, separating them from schools and friends; social workers are required to drive across the state to visit those on their caseload. • Social workers may have as many as 50-80 children on their caseloads. • At the beginning of the school year, averages of 10-20 new children per day were coming into foster care in Greenville County. In February, that number was about 10 per week. The need for foster families is still at a crisis point.
• Psalm 68:5 “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows, is God in his holy habitation.” • God promises protection and help for those who cannot protect themselves, and He redeems injustice through His mighty love. Deuteronomy 10:18, “He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice.” • God calls us to actively pursue meeting the needs of children living as orphans. James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction...” • We are called by God to remember children living as orphans in our giving. Deuteronomy 14:29 “…And the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.”
• Consider becoming trained and licensed as a foster family through DSS or Miracle Hill – join us for an informational panel on Wednesday, March 14. • Invite your Life Group to help pack bags for foster children– all items will be provided by the Mission 1:27 Giving Closet. • Donate backpacks, duffle bags, gently used children’s clothing and shoes of all sizes, gently used books and toys, baby items, etc. in the Mission 1:27 donation bin located near the Welcome Center. We particularly need new children’s underwear and socks. We also need deodorant, toothbrush/ toothpaste, and small packs of wipes. • Give to Mission 1:27 (apart from your tithe) to help with funds for foster and adoption grants. Recently, we were able to help one of our missionary families with the funds to adopt two foster children.
WE ALL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY All are called to pray, some are called to serve as foster families, some to give, some to support in other ways. Meet three Taylors FBC families who have responded to God’s call. >> 8 | TAYLORSFBC.ORG
Called to Foster & Adopt Meet Eric, Christiana, Called to Foster Meet Gray, Kristen, Morgan, Grayson, and Kendall Madden Our family's fostering journey began over six years ago when we felt the Lord calling us to adopt internationally. Following God's call, we attempted for over three years to bring home a child from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Although we were unsuccessful, God quickly allowed for another door to open, which led us into the world of fostering. Over the past three years, we have welcomed thirteen children into our home, some staying only days and others who remained for a year. Fostering has been more challenging than we ever could have anticipated, but has deeply enriched and impacted our lives. We have learned that foster families don’t always remove these children from their situations permanently, but walk with them through their difficulty and bear the emotions of their reality with them. Through our fostering experience, God has allowed us to not only be a part of the lives of these children, but their parents and siblings, numerous DSS caseworkers, and so many others. We are thankful that God is allowing us this opportunity to serve so many and to experience such life change!

Called to REACH, Foster & Adopt
Meet James and Jennifer Bodolosky and 10 children The Bodoloskys are Taylors FBC members and serve as missionaries with Fireweed Ministry in Eagle River, Alaska. This amazing family is a Taylors FBC REACH partner to the NATION, and we have sent short term mission teams to serve alongside of them. This year will be the fifth summer we have partnered with them. This summer, four of our young adults (recent high school graduates) will return to spend 6-8 weeks working with the Bodoloskys in their ministry. During their summer ministry in the public parks in 2015, The Bodoloskys met a child who came every day, rain or shine to participate in what he called “church” in the park. As the year progressed, the Bodoloskys continued to minister to this child and his family. The family was struggling and at one point asked the Bodoloskys to care for their children on an emergency basis. That short-term care arrangement led to the Bodoloskys’ becoming official, licensed foster parents through the state of Alaska to the boy and his sister. Last month, Alaskan social services asked the Bodoloskys if they would adopt the children. After much prayer and Christian counsel, they have agreed! http://www.bodosgotellak.com

Conversational Evangelism
Do you feel called to live out God’s command to help the poor? This interactive course explores a biblically based framework concerning the root causes of poverty and its alleviation. A path forward is found, not through providing handouts to the poor, but by walking with them in humble relationships. Using various sources and teaching tools, we will explore a different perspective on the fundamental nature of poverty and how to most effectively engage those in the midst of it. We will hear from those involved in current Taylors FBC ministries to see how these principles can be implemented. $15 per person

Steadfast Love: A Study of Psalm 107 by Lauren Chandler Psalm 107 is a call to worship. It reminds us that each season of life is an opportunity to reveal the anchor of our souls. In this 7-session Bible study, learn to face both storms and deserts with courage and trust in Jesus, and discover how tests in our journeys of faith reveal the true condition of our hearts. For there is no fear for the one who fears the Lord, the one whose soul is anchored in His steadfast love. Registration Opens March 10 www.taylorsfbc.org/women
