New Media Art

New media and digital technologies have become a large part of our lives. While traditional materials are still invaluable in art classrooms and studios, the field has expanded and given way to the inclusion of new forms of literacies. By embracing old and new media alike we allow students to make their own choices according to their needs, interests, and professional specialization. The most recent extension of our program - the Myers Media Art Studio - reflects and expresses our commitment to cross media learning including a broad variety of media and digital technologies. Media art puts art education into the digital age. The New Media Art Studio is a creative space. While providing a classroom with advanced technologies, the studio serves as a place for critical thinking, artistic research, and imaginative explorations into new media and their creative value, tailored to the needs of our students, teachers, and artists. Connecting new media communities across the city, our new media studio brings together students and faculty from within and outside the college.
