Trinity Development & Alumni (TDA) is the primary fundraising agency for The University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin. It is charged with responsibility for, and exists solely to support, the fundraising (development) and alumni engagement activities of the University. www.tcd.ie/development, www.tcd.ie/alumni. This post is tenable from August or as soon as possible thereafter. Role & Purpose To develop and sustain a community of alumni donors to the College. Responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of the alumni giving programme to a wide range of audiences - alumni, students and staff - via a variety of media such as direct mail, phone, email and personal contact. Key Responsibilities 1. Deliver a comprehensive alumni giving programme for the College. 2. Develop key messaging and materials for online, print, phone and personal communication articulating the need for support and the benefit of alumni giving to the College. 3. Manage the process of engaging with alumni, students and staff about the importance of giving back. 4. Manage the process of asking, thanking and reporting to all donors involved in alumni giving. 5. Work closely with College staff, students, alumni groups and volunteers of the College to help achieve the alumni giving goals of the College. 6. Act as the point of contact for all alumni giving queries. 7. Support alumni giving team with achieving their respective individual and team-based goals. 8. Work with TDA teams in delivering the respective goals of the College. 9. Plan, record, measure and report on activity (monthly, quarterly, and annually). 10. Manage relationships with other universities, benchmarking groups, consultants and service providers in relation to alumni giving programmes. 11. Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time by line manager. Required Experience & Skills Qualifications - Third-level qualification or professionally trained with appropriate qualifications. Experience and Knowledge (Essential) - Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster good working relationships. - Demonstrated knowledge of programme management and strong analytical skills.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills including experience in writing direct mail appeals. Motivated, flexible and able to use own initiative in a busy working environment. Diligent, highly organised with close attention to detail. Experience of structuring workload and timelines. Ability to get the best out of a team – helping others work creatively and strategically. Demonstrated experience in providing service to internal stakeholders. Strong computer skills - MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience of successful alumni giving, fundraising or direct marketing field. Understanding of, and passion for, the role and value of a university in society.

Experience & Skills (Desirable) - Experience with customer relationship management databases or equivalent desired. - Knowledge of the principles and processes relevant to major gift fundraising is beneficial. Terms -

The reporting line is to the Alumni Director. This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover contract for nine months. There will be a six-month probationary period. The hours are 9am - 5pm, however flexibility is required for supporting evening events. Salary will reflect the nature of the job and the experience of the candidate.
