At first, all signs pointed to a brilliant season.

provided for early season victories over Williams, St. lawrence, and Tufts.
We were ripe for defeat.
Expecting great things the team was not capable of, we turned in erratic performances.
Gone were the unbeaten dreams. What was left was . . .

And yet some people would have said the season was not a total loss.

THE IVY In recent years yearbooks have moved away from the traditional and into the creative. Occasionally the creativ ity has gotten out of control and the results have been disasterous. Some peop le have tried to use the yearbook as a means to air their views-yet the yearbook is not meant to be an editorial in hardbound covers. There ore other ways of attain ing originality without degridoting your school. It has been the goa l of this staff to produce an origina l, interesting book that wil l be more than just glanced over hurriedly. Of course, a yearbook is only as good as those who put it togethe r make it. Special cred it must be g iven to Mike Somma (Art Edi tor) for the creation of the extended introductory section. He proved his talents were not lim ited to canvas. Without pictures there cou ld be no yearbook at all. This task was carried out competent ly by Skip Schumacher (Photography Editor). Besides spending countless hours in the dark room, he took the faculty pictures whith was on awesome accompl ishment. There were others who helped us to gel the photographs for our book- among them: Mal Salter (Public Re lations); The Harlforcl Times (p. 135, 183 ); Mr. Norton Berkowitz (Photoreflex); Joh n Heldt and Ned Roberts. Then there was Tom Garson (Business Manager) who sold the ads which mode the whole show possible. There were many others, such as Mike Tousey (Managing Editor). He did all the jobs the rest of us wouldn't do. Player Crosby (Literary Ed itor) who inspired us w ith " his" words of w isdom . Fred Sargent (Copy Editor) who always did on efficient and capable job. Roy Boulanger (Senior Editor)- he hod the unpleasant task of round ing up the delinquent seniors for their pictures . As o result of his good work, we hove only o minimum number of " no pictures." And Ed Houser (Cartoon ist) who put a Iough in the advertising.
