The Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce proudly presents BAYOU BINGO from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Come gather with community businesses and friends at our new signature event! Enjoy 20 rounds of bingo, swag bags, prizes and food from Grand Prize Barbeque.
Attendees also will enjoy a large raffle and live auction throughout the evening for a chance to win prizes such as hunting excursions, fishing trips, weekend bay houses, special dinners for large groups, suites at sporting events, firearms, entertainer memorabilia and much more.
Local spirit vendors will be providing tasting booths for those that desire to sample their tasty libations. Sponsorships still are available! Seize the opportunity to spotlight your business in front of more than 600 attendees.

Women in Leadership Awards nominations are now open

Who do you know that embodies the W.I.L.A. branches of leadership traits? Traits include integrity, passion, humility, empathy, fostering collaborations, servant leadership, uplifting and adding value to others. Honorees will be nominated based on these qualities.

Distinguishing the wide variety of business sectors and sizes in the community, six categories were chosen for this awards program:
• Large Business
• Small Business
• Women-Owned Business
• Education
• Nonprofit/Volunteer
• Young Professional Nominations are being accepted by the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce until July 31.
Once nominated, women will be invited to proceed with the awards process and complete a participation agreement. Nominees must agree to the finalist requirements which includes answering an essay question, supplying background information and photos.
A selection of 18 finalists, three from each branch of leadership, will be announced no later than Aug. 15. The six ultimate award winners will be announced at the Women in Leadership Awards luncheon on Thursday, Oct.10 at South Shore Harbor Resort & Conference Center in League City. There will be exciting pre-event promotions in the local media and video tributes that will be showcased live and on social media/ online platforms. All 18 finalists will be honored in a special section of The Daily News. The judging process for this awards program is completed by a panel of women in current leadership positions in the Texas City/La Marque business community.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated in the name of each award winner to a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization of her choice. By submitting a nomination, local business leaders can honor key women in their organizations and hopefully inspire others to strive for excellence in their professional and personal lives!
The Texas City-La Marque Chamber Team spent four days in Galveston at the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) annual conference from June 23 to 26.
TCCE CONFERENCE WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
There, staff members had the chance to attend classes with fellow chamber of commerce executives and learn how to better their chamber knowledge. They learned about the importance of economic development, marketing and tips on topics to help them succeed in what they do. The group learned a lot of valuable information and is ready to apply it to everyday work.
The 2023 TCCE Media Awards were held on the third night of the conference. Tim Culp, president/ CEO, received his tenure award for 25 years of service in the chamber industry at the awards night. Thank you to the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce for hosting a very fun and informative event.

LEADERSHIP MAINLAND
Leadership Mainland learns about local health care
Leadership Mainland focused on health care at its June session. The group was greeted at Shriners Children’s Texas and heard excellent presentations from the executive team during lunch. Afterward, class members were able to tour areas of the hospital.
The Leadership group also visited the UTMB Health-Pediatric and Adult Primary Care clinic in Texas City. The class was joined by the clinic leadership group and was shown how to properly administer CPR.
The Chamber appreciates all these local health leaders who gave valuable time to inspire, inform and motivate the members of Leadership Mainland class of 2024!
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
The Young Professionals group met for a Speed Network Happy Hour on June 13 at Del Papa Distributing Company. A special thank you to Del Papa for providing the drinks and venue for the evening.
