2010 Tusculum Women’s Soccer -- 3

HEAD COACH MIKE JOY Head coach Mike Joy has been at the helm of the Tusculum College women’s soccer program for the past 13 seasons. Those 13 years have been an era of success, resulng in championships and naonal postseason play for Tennessee’s oldest college. Joy rejuvenated the program upon his arrival in Greeneville in 1997, and TC women’s soccer has established itself as one of the most formidable programs in the South Atlanc Conference and NCAA Division II. Since 2000, the Pioneers have claimed either the SAC regular season championship, the SAC Tournament tle or advanced to the NCAA II Tournament in all but one season. During his storied tenure, Joy’s teams have claimed four SAC Championships and four SAC Tournament tles in the last 10 years. Tusculum has also accounted for a remarkable 12 straight winning seasons during Joy’s watch. Coach Joy’s squads have grown accustomed to facing tough compeon, as TC tradionally plays a challenging schedule consisng of a number of Top 25 opponents. His desire to face some of Division II’s best teams makes Joy’s 181-75-18 coaching record at Tusculum all the more impressive. He is one of the winningest acve coaches in NCAA Division II women’s soccer, ranking fourth with 267 total victories and 16th with a .714 career win percentage. With a 64-20-6 record (.744) against SAC opponents, Joy ranks second all-me among SAC women’s soccer coaches in league victories (64). He also places second with 181 overall wins (since 1998). Tusculum returned to prominence during the 2009 season, posng a 15-5-3 record en route to the program’s fih NCAA Tournament appearance, where the Pioneers fell to Carson-Newman in the second round aer opening the tournament by defeang Newberry. Joy guided the Pioneers to the program’s 12th straight winning season, including Tusculum’s 3-2 win over 2007 naonal champion Tampa. The Pioneers posted a 6-2 record in SAC play, finishing second in the conference while advancing to the semifinal round of the SAC Tournament. Three Pioneers earned All-Region honors, while junior midfielder Courtney Turner was named to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA II All-America Team for the second me in her career. The Pioneers posted their 11th consecuve winning season in 2008 with a 10-9-1 record, finishing fih in the SAC standings with a 4-4 mark in conference play. Tusculum received a total of 14 individual honors, including Danielle Tanner, who was named SAC Player of the Year for the first me in program history. Tanner was also tabbed as the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Player of the Year while becoming the first player in school history to record back-to-back 20-goal seasons. His 2007 squad posted a 15-7 worksheet facing one of the toughest schedules in the country. The Pioneers made their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, earning the top seed in the Southeast Region. The Pioneers won six of their last eight matches to advance to the Regional finals before falling at No. 6 Columbus State. TC finished the year ranked No. 14 in the country, marking the third straight season Tusculum has ended the year naonally ranked. Three players earned All-Region honors, while Turner was named to the NSCAA/NCAA II All-America Team. In 2006, the Pioneers didn’t claim the SAC Championship or SAC Tournament tle for the first me in seven years. COACH JOY YEARBYYEAR But Tusculum made its strongest naonal postseason run in school history, posng regional wins over Armstrong Atlanc State University and Carson-Newman College to claim the 2006 NCAA II Southeast Region Championship and advance to Year W L T Pct. the NCAA Elite Eight for the first me in school history. Tusculum’s No. 8 NSCAA/adidas NCAA II naonal ranking was the Midway College best lisng at the end of a season in school history. Tusculum ended the year 14-3-3. Three players garnered All-Region 1992 18 3 0 .857 accolades, while defender Ashley Moreira was named to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA II All-America Team. 1993 18 3 1 .841 Joy’s 2005 Pioneer squad concluded the season with a 12-6-2 record and a No. 18 naonal ranking in the final 20 6 0 .769 NSCAA/adidas NCAA II poll. TC earned its second NCAA Tournament berth and was the top seed and host for the Southeast 1994 17 7 2 .692 Regional. The squad also captured its fourth Food Lion SAC Tournament championship. Five Pioneer players were named 1995 1996 13 6 2 .667 to the All-South Atlanc Conference Team, while two players earned All-Region recognion. Tusculum College In 2004, Tusculum concluded the season with a 14-4-1 overall record and a 6-1 SAC mark, which ed the Pioneers 10 11 1 .477 with eventual NCAA Final Four parcipant Carson-Newman atop the final league standings. When the campaign came to a 1997 1998 13 7 2 .636 close, TC had faced five Top 25 opponents in a total of six matches, posng a 3-1-1 record in those contests. 15 6 0 .714 Aer several years of just missing the cut, Joy’s 2003 team reached the NCAA Division II Tournament, advancing to the 1999 19 3 0 .864 Southeast Region final before bowing out to eventual naonal champion Kennesaw State. Prior to the season-ending loss, 2000 the squad had played some of its finest soccer of the season, pung together four straight shutout wins, including three in 2001 16 2 3 .833 the SAC Tournament, to claim its third tournament tle in four years. 2002 13 7 1 .643 Faced with yet another tough schedule, his 2002 team went 13-7-1, winning a share of its third straight SAC tle. The 2003 15 5 1 .763 schedule included all three teams that held the No. 1 naonal ranking that year. 2004 14 4 1 .763 Joy’s 2001 team took over where the 2000 team le off. The Pioneers captured both the regular season and confer- 2005 12 6 2 .650 ence tournament championships for a second consecuve season, finishing with a 16-2-3 overall record and 5-1-1 mark in 2006 14 3 3 .775 conference play. Tusculum became the first school in SAC history to win back-to-back outright regular season and tourna- 2007 15 7 0 .682 ment tles. 2008 10 9 1 .525 The 2000 campaign was a new season and a new century for the Pioneers and what a year it was. The Pioneers re2009 15 5 3 .717 corded an impressive 19-3 record, including a perfect 7-0 mark in league play while capturing the SAC regular season and 267 100 23 .714 tournament tles. TC outscored the tournament opposion by a 21-0 margin and became only the second SAC squad to Totals win both tles outright in a season and the first to do so since 1991. The 2000 team smashed the record books by establishing or matching 23 team and individual school records, 11 SAC records and one NCAA Division II record. In Joy’s debut season in 1997, the Pioneers showed marked improvement with a 10-11-1 record. They followed with a 13-7-2 mark in 1998. Aer a sluggish 2-4 start, Tusculum won 13 of its last 15 matches en route to a 15-6 showing in 1999. Included in that tally was a 6-2 record and a third place finish in TC’s first season of South Atlanc Conference play. A nave of Dallas, Texas, Joy came to Tusculum aer a successful five-year run at Midway College. While at the Midway, Ky. school, Joy posted an impressive 86-25-5 record, while capturing five consecuve Kentucky Intercollegiate Athlec Conference (KIAC) tles. He also guided the Eagles to a record five NAIA regional championship appearances. Joy’s teams claimed two Mid-South Region tles and earned back-to-back berths in the NAIA Naonal Championships in 1994 and 1995. His squads were also ranked in the NAIA Top 20 during all five seasons, and remarkably, his teams never lost a conference match during his watch. For his efforts, the 1978 University of Kentucky graduate has earned NAIA District 32, NSCAA/Umbro Midsouth and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year accolades. More impressively, he has been nominated three mes for Naonal Coach of the Year consideraon. In 1990, Joy returned to his alma mater to start the women’s soccer program at Kentucky. The 2000-01 season was his finest, as the men’s squad posted a 13-8 tally and finished third in the South Atlanc Conference. The women’s team also shined that year, as the Pioneers went 13-10 and became the first Tusculum team to earn a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. 2010 PROSPECTUS The Tusculum women’s soccer program enters the 2010 season full of promise and potenal, returning seven of its top 10 scorers from a squad that posted a 155-3 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago. With the return of 16 leer-winners and the arrival of a deep and talented recruing class, Head Coach Mike Joy is once again in posion to add to his legacy of excellence at Tusculum, having guided the Pioneers to 12 consecuve winning seasons and 13 straight 10-win campaigns. The Pioneers returned to form among the elite programs in the Southeast Region in 2009, finishing the regular season second in the South Atlanc Conference and going on a magical postseason run that ended with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to archrival Carson-Newman Head Coach Mike Joy College in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Several Pioneers garnered individual recognion last season, including senior Courtney Turner’s (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) second career selecon to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II All-America Team. Coach Joy’s squad returns eight starters from last season, including NSCAA/ adidas NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region First Team selecon Tramicka James (Wilson, N.C.), and Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Second Team honoree Claire Duncan (Greeneville, Tenn.). With an envious combinaon of youth, talent, and experience, Tusculum looks primed to challenge for its fih SAC championship and launch a run deep into the NCAA Tournament as the favorite to capture the conference crown. FORWARDS James returns for her sophomore season to headline the Pioneer aack, hoping to build on a rookie campaign in which she tallied a team-high 11 goals and totaled 30 points to rank fourth and third in the conference, respecvely. The All-SAC First Team selecon will be joined in the aacking third by a trio of gied returners, as well as four promising newcomers, giving the Pioneers a deep and talented aacking corps. Paence Leonard (Greeneville, Tenn.) returns for her junior season with the Pioneers aer posng two goals, one assist, and Sophomore Tramicka James five points in limited acon a year ago. The 5-8 forward will be joined by returning sophomores Kourtney Kavic (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) and Aly Carrino (Greeneville, Tenn.). Kavic was impressive in her rookie campaign with the Pioneers, finishing the season ed for third on the team in goals (6) and fourth in points (16), while making 17 starts. Carrino looks to challenge for playing me in her sophomore season aer seeing limited acon in her rookie campaign with the Pioneers. The Pioneers also welcome a quartet of newcomers into the aacking corps this season, led by sophomore transfer Kim Brown (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada). Brown joins Tusculum from Davis & Elkins College, where she posted team-highs of 12 goals and 29 points en route to All-WVIAC First Team recognion. Jenique Thombs (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada), Kae Capel (Waverly, Tenn.), and Amy Neltner (Wilder, Ky.) round out the new aacking opons for the Pioneers, each bringing a different style to the Tusculum front line. Thombs joins the Pioneers from Pope John Paul Secondary Catholic High School, where she starred at both the high school and club level, garnering numerous awards and leading her club team to the Ontario Cup championship. Capel, a 5-4 forward from Waverly, Tenn., comes to Tusculum as a three-me All-District performer and 2009 District Offensive Player of the Year at Waverly High School. Neltner joins the Pioneers from Campbell County High School in Alexandria, Ky. where she garnered numerous honors, including an AllNorthern Kentucky Second Team selecon. MIDFIELDERS Turner returns to anchor the Pioneer midfield for her senior season, leading a deep and talented group of student-athletes that brings a wealth of experience to the pitch. The two-me All-American shined for the Pioneers last season, scoring three goals and finishing the campaign ed for second on the team in assists (8) en route to a multude of honors, including an NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II All-America Second Team selecon, becoming the second two-me All-American in program history. Junior Michelle Meade (Greeneville, Tenn.) will likely join Turner in the starting midfield for the Pioneers this season, fresh off a sophomore campaign in which she led the SAC with 10 assists. Seniors Lisa Andriano (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and Amber Bradley (Kent, Wash.) join Turner, Meade, and fellow senior Jillian Cunha (London, Ontario, Canada) as veteran leaders among a group of talented and experienced

midfielders which figures to be integral to Tusculum’s success this season. Andriano started the first five matches of the 2009 season before injury sidelined her for the rest of the campaign; Bradley was a fixture in the starng 11 for the Pioneers last season, starting each of TC’s 23 contests and tallying a pair of assists. Cunha returns to Tusculum for her senior campaign, and will compete for playing me aer appearing in nine matches and recording an assist last season. Junior Devan McIntyre (Greeneville, Tenn.) and sophomore Zaily Mejia (Sevierville, Tenn.) round out the returning midfield corps Senior Courtney Turner for the Pioneers, and are expected to compete for playing me. Freshmen Kae Dargavell (Berea, Ky.), a two-me All-District selecon, and Ariana Sigmon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), a four-me All-Region honoree, will also compete for playing me this season. DEFENDERS Duncan is expected to anchor the Pioneer back line in her junior season, fresh off a sophomore campaign in which she tallied six goals and ed for the team-lead with three match-winners en route to a pair of All-Region selecons. Joining Duncan in the veteran defensive corps are seniors Cassy Melnike (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and Amber Marceau (Grayson, Ga.), as well as junior Jessica Lee (Virginia Beach, Va.). All three are expected to compete for a spot in the starng 11 aer combining for 48 starts a season ago. Lee posted a stellar season for the Pioneers in 2009, logging a programrecord 2116 minutes and starng 23 matches on the backline. Melnike became a fixture on the backline for Tusculum last season, making 18 starts and scoring a pair of goals. Marceau appeared in Junior Claire Duncan 22 matches in her first season with the Pioneers, making seven starts while tallying two goals and one assist. The Pioneers welcome eight newcomers to the defensive corps this season, a group that boasts several players who should challenge for a spot in the starng 11. Freshman Colleen Moloney (Houston, Texas) joins Tusculum aer a stellar prep career in which she was a three-me All-District selecon, and a member of two state semifinalist teams. Rookie defender Monica Perez (Ausn, Texas) is expected to challenge for playing me and a spot in the starng 11 aer starring as a two-me All-District First Team performer for James Bowie High School in Ausn. Freshman defender Amy Morford (Versailes, Ky.) will challenge for a spot along the starng backline this season, joining the Pioneers aer garnering numerous accolades during her prep career at Campbell County High School in Alexandria, Ky. Paige Thompson (Jonesborough, Tenn.) comes to Tusculum from Davy Crocke High School, where she was a two-me All-Conference performer. Freshmen Shanice Campbell (Ajax, Ontario, Canada) and Jamie Smith (Welland, Ontario, Canada) are expected to challenge for a spot in the starng 11, each joining the Pioneers aer stellar prep careers, while rookies Lindsey Ogle (Morristown, Tenn.) and Kae Chadwick (Ringgold, Pa.) will compete for playing me amongst Tusculum’s deep defensive corps. GOALKEEPERS Rachael Jennings (Asheville, N.C.) returns for her sophomore season as the incumbent starter for Tusculum amongst a talented group of goalkeepers, including junior transfer Kelsey Cunningham (Cumming, Ga.) and freshman Sam Miller (Knoxville, Tenn.). Jennings posted a solid rookie campaign for the Pioneers last season, posng a 9-2 record and making 36 saves in 11 starts. Cunningham is expected to challenge Jennings for the starng spot, joining the Pioneers from Young Harris College aer garnering NSCAA/adidas Junior College AllSouth recognion at the Young Harris, Ga. school. Miller rounds out the Pioneer goalkeeper corps, joining TC from Central High School in Knoxville, Tenn. where she was an All-District performer. OUTLOOK With a seasoned core of veterans and a gied group of newcomers, the Pioneers hope to take advantage of their depth and ulize their nearly ideal blend of youth, talent, and experience to build on last season’s success. Coach Joy’s squad will look to recapture the program’s elite status, and claim its fih SAC championship aer being picked to finish this season first in the conference standings.

2009 SEASON

IN

REVIEW

The 2009 Tusculum women’s soccer team returned to the elite form to which the program has been accustomed to over the last decade, posng a 15-5-3 record and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. Tusculum’s impressive campaign was filled with memorable moments, including several pivotal victories as well as some outstanding individual performances en route to the program’s 12th straight winning season under head coach Mike Joy. Tusculum garnered a total of 14 individual awards during the 2009 season, including Courtney Turner’s (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) selecon to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II All-America Second Team, marking the second me in her career she has been so honored. In doing so, she became only the second player in program history to garner All-America recognion twice. A trio of Pioneers also garnered All-Region recognion, as Turner, Tramicka James (Wilson, N.C.), and Ashley Bradford (London, Ky.) were each named to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA II All-Southeast Region Team. James, Bradford, and Claire Duncan (Greeneville, Tenn.) were also named to the Daktronics Division II All-Southeast Region Team. Three Pioneers also garnered All-South Atlanc Conference recognion, as Turner was named to the first team for the second me in her career, while James and Bradford were each voted to the second team. The Pioneers opened the season with two wins in their first three matches, including a thrilling 3-2 victory against Tampa on Sep. 4. Tusculum suffered a momentary setback against No. 7 Columbus State on Sep. 6, falling to the Cougars by a 2-1 score in extra me aer holding an early 1-0 lead. Tusculum responded with a seven-match winning streak, posng pivotal one-goal victories over Southern New Hampshire (Sep. 11), Lynn (Sep. 13), Barry (Sep. 18), and Harding (Sep. 20) before surviving a late rally at Lincoln Memorial to open its SAC schedule with a 5-4 win over the Railspliers. The Pioneers connued their run on Sep. 26 with a 4-0 victory over Brevard, stretching the win streak to seven and heading into a pivotal clash with archrival Carson-Newman boasng a sterling 9-2 record. Coach Joy’s squad ran into a strong and determined foe on Sep. 30, falling to the seventh-ranked Lady Eagles by a 3-1 score at Pioneer Field, ending the Pioneers’ winning streak and propelling Carson-Newman to the top of the conference standings. The Pioneers would bounce back from the setback, launching a six-match unbeaten streak to head into the regular season finale against Lenoir-Rhyne on Oct. 31 with a chance to capture the program’s fih conference tle. Tusculum’s tle bid would crash to a heart wrenching halt as the Pioneers, needing just a e to clinch a share of the conference championship, fell to the Bears in extra me by a 2-1 score. The Pioneers would sll head into the SAC Tournament in good posion, claiming the second seed behind regular season champion Carson-Newman and drawing seventh-seeded Lincoln Memorial in the quarterfinal round. Lincoln Memorial came into its quarterfinal matchup with the Pioneers prepared for bale, fighng TC to a scoreless draw at the end of extra me, and sending the match into a penalty kick shootout. The Pioneers would emerge victorious, converng three of their aempts and holding the Railspliers to just one en route to a berth in the semifinal round. Tusculum would face a familiar nemesis in the semifinal round, squaring off against Lenoir-Rhyne for a chance to avenge its loss in the regular season finale. For the second straight match, neither team could find the back of the net in either regulaon or extra me, sending the contest to a penalty kick shootout with a berth in the championship match in the balance. The Bears would deny the Pioneers, edging TC 4-3 in the shootout to claim a spot in the championship match and leave Tusculum’s NCAA Tournament hopes in doubt. The Pioneers had lile to fear, earning an at-large bid as the fourth seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and drawing SAC foe Newberry in the first round. Tusculum would take full advantage of the opportunity, defeang the Scarlet and Gray behind mely goals from Michelle Meade (Greeneville, Tenn.) and Turner to punch its cket to a second-round matchup with No. 7 Carson-Newman. The archrivals would engage in a tanic bale, with Carson-Newman claiming an early 1-0 advantage midway through the first half, which it would hold into the interval. Tusculum would bale unl the end, launching numerous rally aempts in the second half in a furious effort to connue its season. The Pioneers’ efforts would nearly be rewarded in the 88th minute, when the Carson-Newman keeper was forced to make a spectacular save on a shot from Kayla Durden to preserve the 1-0 win, and end the Pioners’ magical postseason run.

TUSCULUM COLLEGE TUSCULUM HISTORY Tusculum College is the oldest college in Tennessee and the 28th oldest in the naon. In addion, Tusculum is the oldest coeducaonal instuon affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and an early naonal pioneer in the admission of women. Tusculum accepted women students early in its history, and it is notable that by the turn of the 20th century more than half of its students were women. The roots of Tusculum College are buried deep in early American froner history. In 1794, George Washington was president of a young country and the state of Tennessee was sll two years away from becoming a reality. In what is now East Tennessee, Hezekiah Balch and Samuel Doak, Presbyterian ministers educated at the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University), were ministering to the pioneers of what was the southwestern froner of the United States. They also desired to meet the educaonal needs of these Scots-lrish selers. Doak and Balch were visionaries ulmately seeking the same goals through the rival colleges they established. Tusculum College as it now exists descends from two schools. The first, Greeneville College, was chartered in September 1794 by the General Assembly of the Territory of the United States South of the Ohio River, and established by Hezekiah Balch. Samuel Doak and his son Samuel Witherspoon Doak founded the second as Tusculum Academy in 1818. Tusculum Academy operated in a log cabin adjacent to the present site of Tusculum College. When the academy became Tusculum College in 1844, Andrew Johnson, who was to become 17th President of the United States, was one of its trustees. A merger in 1868 formed Greeneville and Tusculum College. In 1908, Greeneville and Tusculum College merged with Washington College, creang Washington and Tusculum College. This union dissolved in 1912, and thus evolved modern-day Tusculum College. The College received formal accreditaon by the Southern Associaon of Colleges and Schools 15 years later. The College takes its name from the ancient Roman town where the great statesman and educator Cicero had an academy at his villa. Cicero taught what are now called the liberal arts. They actually were constuted by the pracces a cizen must develop to parcipate effecvely in leading his or her community - to play a vital role in civic affairs. TUSCULUM ACADEMICS As a Civic Arts instuon, Tusculum College prepares students to be effecve cizens, recognizing that they will need praccal wisdom to parcipate in communies and enrich lifeme experiences. Tusculum’s academic calendar is different from all but three other colleges in the country. The academic year is divided into two semesters and our students take four 3 1/2 week courses each semester, totaling eight courses for the year. Classes are taught one at a me, with a four-day break in between. Three 3 1/2 week summer sessions are also offered. This allows our students to complete course requirements for the baccalaureate degree in four calendar years. Our unique Civic Arts program is being used as a model for other colleges and universies that seek to promote community, responsibility, and civic development. The Carnegie Foundaon for the Advancement of Teaching has recognized Tusculum as one of about a dozen schools (including Duke University and the University of Notre Dame) with a strong commitment to those ideals. As part of our emphasis on service-learning, we ask students to assess the needs of the community and complete a project to address those needs. Beyond helping key populaons, Tusculum students gain valuable experience in solving problems, appreciang differences, and working with others. Tusculum College is a learning community where students and faculty members spend concentrated blocks of me together exploring important areas of knowledge, developing and refining thinking and communicaon skills, wrestling with the meless controversial issues that characterize the human condion, and applying themselves to the praccal soluon of problems. Whether in the tradional on-campus Bachelor of Arts programs or in the evening Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts programs for working adult-students, Tusculum College’s disncve academic calendar lets students concentrate on learning one subject at a me. It’s a tradion grounded in the belief that we best realize the potenal of each individual when faculty members and students work closely together with the ulmate aim of enriching the lives of our students and preparing them to contribute posively to their communies. For many tradional students, an inial reason for choosing Tusculum is our focused calendar, which allows students to take one course at a me. For others, its our disncve programs of study, from specialized areas such as Athlec Training, Business Administraon, and Museum Studies to strong arts and sciences areas such as Biology, English, and Psychology. Tusculum is well known throughout East Tennessee for the effecveness of its Teacher Educaon programs. Students are well prepared for careers in early childhood and elementary educaon, in several secondary educaon subject areas, in K-12 programs in Physical Educaon and Visual Arts, and in Special Educaon. But what oen seals prospecve students’ decisions to join Tusculum’s community is the people. Tusculum aracts topflight professors for the same reason that we aract students: small classes with close interacon between professors and students, the focused calendar which allows concentrated study, and a Civic Arts curriculum that emphasizes community. Our professors are movated and movang. Excited and excing. Whatever the major, you’ll find that Tusculum’s academics are innovave, and that our faculty is commied to the success of our students. THE TUSCULUM CAMPUS Located in Greeneville, Tenn., Tusculum College lies in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains between Knoxville and the Tri-Cies (Bristol-Johnson CityKingsport). Our wooded 190-acre campus has over 25 buildings, nine of which are listed on the Naonal Register of Historic Places. The Albert Columbus Tate Library, one of our Naonal Historic Sites, was built in 1910. The library is experiencing a major mul-million dollar renovaon and expansion that will more than double the size of the current library facility, bringing our library space to 34,467 square feet. The Tate Library previously encompassed 12,000 square feet, and is incorporated into the expanded and renovated building. We also have two on-campus museums, one holding archives with materials dang to the College’s beginnings. The Andrew Johnson Presidenal Museum and Library includes the Charles Coffin Collecon containing materials from the Collegeís original library, the Andrew Johnson Library containing books, papers, and memorabilia from the 17th President of the United States, and the College Archives containing documents related to the history of Tusculum since its founding. Tusculum’s locaon is convenient to shopping and entertainment, and our students enjoy access to such recreaonal opportunies as backpacking, hiking, whitewater raing, fishing and snow skiing. The city of Greeneville and Greene County have a combined populaon of 65,000. Knoxville and the Tri-Cies are within a 70-mile radius of the campus.
