UK veteran detective heads up crime unit in RTCIPF

Veteran detective, Dean Holden of the United Kingdom was sworn in this week to head the Crime, Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit of the Royal TCI Police Force.

The highly decorated officer officially assumed the role of superintendent of the unit on Wednesday, February 1.

Superintendent Holden is a former detective chief superintendent who joined the Lancashire Constabulary in 1994 and became a detective in 1999.

During his detective career, Holden worked within the counterterrorism branch, intelligence and an external secondment to the national crime squad.

As a senior detective, Holden worked within a basic command unit and specialised in the force's major incident team, public protection unit and the Northwest regional organised crime unit (ROCU).

He has led numerous major investigations, including highprofile cases such as the Sophie Lancaster ‘Goth’ Murder in Bacup in 2007, the domestic murder of represent the people of the TCI most especially the voiceless.”

She acknowledged that the problem has been festering for many years and that everyone contributed to it.
