Visitors’ visas for Haitian nationals suspended for another six months
Haitian Nationals will not be granted a visa to enter the Turks and Caicos Islands for another six months, as the TCI government has extended its moratorium on visitors’ visas.
The move comes as the number of irregular migrants attempting to enter the territory illegally and clandestinely over the last year has dramatically increased and both the TCI and Haiti are experiencing an upsurge in crime, according to the Minister of Immigration and Border Services, Hon Arlington Musgrove who announced these measures on Friday, 14th July 2023 via a media statement.
The moratorium on visitor visas for the French-speaking neighbouring country which took effect on the 12th of July 2023 is a continuation of the previously imposed moratorium implemented on 12th January 2023.
