The traditional coldset web printer will gain a new share of the market by competing for those customers seeking a glossy heatset product at a fraction of the capital cost compared to heat set printers. This hybrid system allows the coldset printer to produce gloss products and ground wood products on the same press equipment without switching out ink or making timeconsuming press adjustments. Traditional heatset web printers cure or dry their product utilizing large (30’ – 40’ long) gas-fueled ovens. This new hybrid system has a compact footprint of about 25 sq. ft. and is readily installed on existing coldest press lines with no additional floor space required. This innovative product enhances the quality of all your web printing – coated & uncoated.
DESCRIPTION
An electric, compact drying system including, but not limited to heat-generating infrared lights, blowers, control pad, software, chill roll system and casing housing. The components are configured in a manner to allow drying of heatset ink on coated and/or non-coated roll paper stock up to press speeds of 45,000 per hour. The system is uniquely adapted to coldset web offset press equipment.
OPERATOR KEYPAD
Driven by software, this touch-screen keypad is tied into the operation of all functions of the system: on/off, heat temperature, temperature of chillers and press speed.
INFRARED LIGHTS HOUSING UNIT
Consists of a steel housing unit including 18 to 30, 36” long or longer infrared lights providing intense heat used to dry the ink. The system includes fresh air and exhaust blowers and is attached to driven chill rollers. The heat and chillers are adjustable for press speed and drying temperature.
CHILLER AND WATER RESERVOIR
Maintains chill roller water at a lower/constant temperature. Compact size. Used to cool the printed product and sets the ink. Chill rollers are motor driven.
AIR BLOWER CHILLER
A combination of blowers and chillers for use on the folder former board located on the press helps eliminate scratching and marking on the finished printed product.
INFRARED PREHEAT DEVICE
Preheats sheet and reduces moisture content, if necessary. It is tied into the operational keypad allowing settings of both temperature and press speed via custom software.
VERSATILE AND COMPACT HYBRID PRINT DRYING SYSTEM
CUSTOM SOFTWARE RUNS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM – all from one touch pad display The safe screen is the system “home” screen which provides a system safe condition. The web screen is the system operation screen used while running the infrared. These first two screen are the ones that will be used most often by operators. Besides the safe and web screens, multiple diagnostic screens can be accessed by technical or management personnel.
TURN ON THE HEAT Instantly heats up, for lower spoilage. Fully automated software system – almost as simple as pressing a button.
