Sleep and Exercise - Ernie Emu. Discuss how we feel after aerobic activity and why. When we exercise we work our muscles harder and need more energy. Therefore we need to take more air (oxygen) into our lungs. We do this by panting or breathing more quickly which makes the heart beat faster to send more oxygen in the blood to the muscles. Sweating is our body’s way of cooling us down. Help children assemble Ernie the Emu with a split pin.
