UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE
How Can We Make Healthcare Universal?
Is America The Greatest Country? "Democrats want universal health care, collective responsibility — honestly; it’s their version of socialized medicine." – Rudy Giuliani Universal health care - is a term referring to organized health-care systems built around the principle of universal coverage for all members of society, combining mechanisms for health financing and service provision. Most Americans don’t have healthcare and in other countries is worst. In other countries medical needs are higher and the supplies and assistants are lower than low.
Top 10 Reason People Oppose Healthcare 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
There is no historical basis for such a right. There is no legal precedent in the US for such a right. There is no one single compelling reason. Not even health care providers support this idea of health care being a right. It is ridiculous to claim Right to Health Care has been thus far overlooked. We would have to restrict health care providers' rights to select patient clientele if we gave all residents this right. 7. There is no basis for comparing the "Right to Health Care" with the "Right to Education" 8. There is no "Right to Education" officially. 9. Obviously such a right is not essential for effective democracy. 10. Where is the convincing moral argument that would appeal across the board?
Statistics The United States is the only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not have a universal health care system. Why isn’t healthcare already universal? “He, who has health, has hope. And he, who has hope, has everything.” –Proverb
How is it that we are the only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not have a universal health care system? 15.8% or approximately 47 million Americans are uninsured Proponents of the right to health care argue that it would stop medical bankruptcies, improve public health, and reduce overall health care spending Health care is a right for all Americans because the Preamble of the US Constitution states its purpose is to "promote the general welfare" of the people We can develop a centralized national database which makes diagnosis and treatment easier for doctors. Medical professionals can concentrate on healing the patient rather than on insurance procedures, malpractice liability, etc.
DID YOU KNOW?
America has the highest rate of chronic disease, second only to Australia The most rapidly growing disease among children is cancer Young people are dying before their older parents and grandparents About half of the bankruptcy filings in the United States are due to medical expenses 18,000 Americans die every year because they’re uninsured
How many more people have to suffer?
Healthcare is one of the top social and economic problems facing Americans today. The rising cost of medical care and health insurance is impacting the livelihood of many Americans in one way or another. The inability to pay for necessary medical care is no longer a problem affecting only the uninsured, but is increasingly becoming a problem for those with health insurance as well.

So what are other countries doing?
What does this mean for the people in the gray shaded countries? Some families still cannot afford decent coverage for their medical bills and are swamped in debt. In the Roanoke Valley, some 6,400 people walk around with no health care coverage at all In the New River V alley, that number is 3,000 The Boyd Family was happy to hear about their $1- an hour raise, until they understood what it meant for their family. They now earn too much money to qualify for the federal insurance program. If the transfer to the insurance through his company they won’t be able to make car payments and eating would even be a struggle. They can’t afford any other kind of insurance for their 4 and 10 year old daughters.
The heath care issues hit closer to home than you think. There is a shortage of health care in the state of Indiana and in the city of Indianapolis. One in every five Hoosiers lack health insurance. Which means, when they get sick and try to go to the doctor, they have to pay full price for each and every task the doctor performs on them. Medical bills are sky high and so is the cost of living so going to the doctor is the least of their worries. Some Americans are insured and still cannot afford to see a doctor on a regular basis.
A woman named, Kimberly Cecil is an employed woman with a health insurance premium for $259 for her 17 year old son and her oldest daughter who is in the Air Force. She is also a newlywed. The insurance benefits that she and her husband get are still causing them to skip check-ups and not fill their prescription as needed. So why are they even paying the money is this is happening? They should not have to. Well, as of now they do not. She decided to eliminate the insurance expense because it became too overwhelming to pay plus her living expenses as well. The government needs to take part in this health care issue for Americans. Especially the individuals who work and pay taxes.
The government spends millions of dollars on the military, artillery, and other war gadgets but will not make sure all Americans have regular doctor visits. The government builds more houses, mansions, and condominiums when there are vacant homes around the country. The government uses money on unnecessary things when there are clearly other things and people that need it. The government needs to take down excess amounts of spending on those things and start insuring and caring about their citizens.
